So our wins are bad? Is a close win in a game to BC worse than a loss to Texas? Worse than a loss to Ole Miss? Worse than a loss to Nebraska? Everyone here seems to think that we can't beat a team that lost to northwestern and Oregon. I don't know if we can, but I certainly don't think it would be considered an upset.

Is our loss to Clemson better than an Oklahoma seven point win against Tennessee or a one point win against TCU. Or an Oklahoma State three point win against Texas or a four point win over Iowa State. I think every team has a few bad wins and all but two have a bad loss. I'm not sure why our bad wins are worse than anyone's or our good loss isn't better than anyone else is.

No loss is better than a two pointer versus the #1 team, and which top team doesn't have a bad win? (Alabama had a 5 point win versus Tennessee)

yes it does all the time. Just stop it. Please its getting bad. We are 9-1 with a lot of injuries. almost any other school would love to be ND right now. What more do you guys want. I don't get it. We are in the playoffs right now and in the mix.

we are NOT in the playoffs. we may be considered at this point but that's all. and of course, most other schools would love to have one or fewer losses ... aside from the 12 that do.

and all i want is for them to play to their potential. all i would ever ask.

i'd LOVE to point out how our loses are worse than most (maybe all) the contenders but i can't without a whole lot of investigative work. if there's a site somewhere which shows how team fared against the spread i think it would clearly point out how "weak" our wins have been.

So you would like to point out how our two point loss to Clemson is worse than a loss to Ole Miss, Texas, Nebraska, MSU, Baylor, and LSU. Good luck with that.

I think the back ups have played well by and large. Beating some good teams and some bad ones, maybe not with the style points people want but I'll take a win and worry about the rest later. With no undefeated Big12 team I don't think they will jump Notre Dame.

I'm worried about tomorrow. Seems like all of the "expert" media analysis have Oklahoma, Iowa and/or Michigan State jumping us this week. Very concerning to say the least

I will be pretty frustrated if we go 11-1 and miss the playoffs even though we would have with wins over 3 top 25 teams and our only defeat coming to the #1 team in their place by 2

Fortunately, if we beat Stanford on the road, some of these "experts" will forget about our bad performance in Boston.

now you're just being obtuse. the clemson game was, so far, 1/11th of the year.

That doesn't mean anything now. They're the #1 team in the country now and has been a for the last few weeks now which is all that matters.

To show you how stupid your logic is, Georgia Tech was #14 when Notre Dame beat them. You think anyone gives a damn that they were a top 15 team at that time or not? Nobody gives 2 shits that Clemson were #12 back then. It will be looked at a 2 point defeat on the road against the #1 team in the nation.

So of course, based on that logic, our win over Georgia Tech was a high quality win over the #14 team in the country.

Yet you can show how our loss against Clemson was worse than the loss of most (if not all) of the contenders for the playoff.

If it happens it happens, all the "experts" have had Oklahoma State or Baylor jumping Notre Dame for the past two weeks so it's nothing new.

you don't get it so let's just drop it.

So what did you mean when you said "I'd love to point out how our losses are worse than most (maybe all) of the contenders but I can't without a whole lot of investigative work". What additional info would you need to show that Oklahoma losing to Texas was worse than ND losing to Clemson? Or Bama losing to Ole Miss? Or Michigan State losing to Nebraska?
