Therien flat out said that it's not the system even on the PK it's the players not executing. We've seen this happen last year it's like a collective slump. Doesn't make any sense as in theory the younger players should be better but they all look like they've regressed. Maybe a coaching change shakes it up or you make drastic line changes...

Therien also said they were playing to much on the perimeter and they stood little to no chance winning games on the perimeter.
If you watch them, that's all they do is dominate the perimeter while everyone who beats us beats us on the inside.....where the Dmen should be but 80% of the time are not.

It's disgustingly embarrassing at this point. To lose 1-6 on home ice to a division rival that is chalked full of role players and has no real star talent aside from Barzal and maybe Bailey is an absolute disgrace.

Any of us fans would fire Hakstol immediately based off emotion alone, but Hexy will probably show a lot more patience. How much patience will he show, that is the question.
I guess it depends on if he sees the obvious. There is no fuckin way in hell you get called out by your coach and show up and play like that. To me it's a question of where you start and who gets blown up!

Give me one good reason why Dave Hakstol is still here

This was in reply to @Maverick426h but I screwed up the quote lol.

The article says about calling up Lyons or Stolarz.....

Why.....

Carter Hart coming up is not going to matter either.
The D is failing and failing bad. You could put Holtby in there, our D would allow him to be destroyed.

And for the record, Craig Forsythe who wrote the article, is a troll.

I think it says if a lost season, I may have misread it. But why not bring up some of these kids, What we obviously have sucks balls I don't think any of them sustain mental damage from a bad game here and there.

Man to man, we have skill, talent, speed and experience at every position (except goaltender, arguably), but collectively the effort, teamwork, communication and compete level are there very infrequently.

That's on the coach, not the players, for now. Either Hakstol doesn't have these guys ready to play hockey games right now or they are completely tuning him out. Regardless, he takes the fall for that, whether it be faults in his systems and/or an inability to connect with his players.

Now if the same thing happens once we have a new coach, players will be shipped out one by one if that's what it takes to change the culture.

Yes, it's very early in the season still, but a 4-7 record with a couple of recent, horrid losses to division rivals and sitting dead last in the Nhl in goals against at 46 is completely unacceptable for this group.

Aube-Kubel and Goulborne called up. Knight back to IR and Vorobyev sent down.

Makes sense by me. Goulbourne came up and the team won 8 of 9 to help get things turned around last year. Let’s see if it happens again.

Should definitely see an uptick in tenacity with those guys out there.

SO, the Flyers add a couple of fast skating "glue" type players with some grit and some hand skills.

Sad observation after rewatching some of the last couple games...one of the most consistent players has been Lehtera. The big slow Lehtera. He may be out of position because of lack of foot speed, but he gets to or as close to his spots as his speed allows. He uses what physical tools he has to create opportunities. And he is a sub NHL player.

But, it isn't raining. Guess we have that going for us.

True but some of these guys should know better as Awaz said how do you leave a guy wide open in front of your net? We learn that as a fuckin kid! It's also not the same players it's all of them like a rotating strike. I've seen every dman and forward F up and its usually costly. Then when you need the goalie to make one key save you get nothing...

:agree:

While they are getting better and better at passing around the boards, they aren't throwing anything inside or taking shots. And when they do take the shot, no one is inside to maybe catch a rebound off the goalie or redirect a puck.
