Now that is what I'm talking about. Our boys played a complete game and goaltending much improved. Can we continue this type of playing the rest of the way is my question?

Elliot battled the way Elliot can. He still looks like his mobility is decreased but I am nit picking.

The team did compete better. I did have to review the game stats to make sure that some of the team was even dressed...it has nothing to do with their ice time...they just seemed to vanish.

Haag had another growth game. Sanheim looked more relaxed. Patrick looks like he is getting his confidence and that can only be a good thing.

I still think that one of the core needs to go...Simmonds still makes the most sense to me.

A win is a win and that is a lot better than a loss.

I only watched the first period, but I liked the effort that I saw. G's pass to Couts for the goal was just about perfect. TK played with an edge and Simmonds wanted to kill every Duck at the start of the game. The hope is to keep it going and not get comfortable/cocky over 1 win.

Far better effort it's called skating they looked faster than the Ducks because of it. When backed against a wall they decide to play just do it because you want to be the best not because you have to!!!

I need to see the fucking game still, unfortunately, but this team needs to learn to skate like that every night. You don't just show up with talent and skill in the Nhl and win these days. You have to fucking hustle too. That second and third effort in battles is vital. Otherwise, you're not winning very often.

For fuck sake, look at the Islanders for example. They are probably the least talented team in our division, yet just beat us, Carolina and Pittsburgh back to back to back on the road (in four nights).

To me, that is coaching and hustle.

Sometimes it's just easier to break out of a funk to just simply hit the road for a few games. I think it really develops relationships with the team and coaches. It changes the scenery a bit and away from the media back home. Just my opinion. This west coast trip may bring the young players and veterans on the team together a bit.
