I can't believe they just sat Gudas as a healthy scratch after that big win in Vegas. I guess they are looking at the season as a whole and not just winning a game tonight. Either way, Folin obviously has to be better or he won't play. As a 27 year old veteran, you expect that guy not to make idiotic plays in his own zone, like the one that led directly to their second goal.

Not a very good second period. Elliott is keeping us in the game though. Barberio did his best MacDonald impersonation and gifted Vorobyev his first Nhl goal. I think G is pretty frustrated with himself here. Both he and Provy, who should be two of our three best players, have not quite looked like themselves yet this season. Not sure how Konecny got a two minute minor for getting tackled and mauled by Zadorov, a much bigger man, after the whistle. Would've been interesting if the puck had went in on that last shot by Sanheim with the net off.

All of that said, Colorado can be had here in the final frame. This one is far from over.

Hopefully JvR is alright too. He took that puck off the inside of his right knee, it appeared. Lasgop will be thrilled.

Well, that was frustrating to watch. I think basically their star players were on point and ours just a touch off, for the most part. That and some questionable officiating make it a tough pill to swallow.

Not sure how they deemed Sanheim pushed Landeskog into Elliott on the 3rd goal against. Zadorov should've got the extra penalty when he mauled Konecny after the whistle. The hooking call on Folin with 5:22 left that pretty much sealed the game was very weak, at the least, especially considering we were already down a man. Those of you wanting to see some emotion and fire from Hakstol got it at that moment.

The final score doesn't show it, but that was a tight game start to finish.

Guys like G, Provy, Ghost, Voracek and Patrick really need to get it into gear here. The season has begun and we need them pumping on all cylinders.

Thank goodness it's only a lower body injury, I was afraid he may have pulled a muscle in his neck watching people skate by him.

Thank you. It's pretty messed up however that the two veterans who only played one preseason game are the only ones really playing at their regular level right now. These other guys need to get up to speed. They are just a touch off on a lot of plays.

Wow, not a lot of defense being played early in the season across the whole Nhl. Teams have scored 5+ goals in a game already 17 times...Lol The Canes beat the Rags 8-5 earlier today. Leafs are up 5-4 on the Hawks in the 3rd as I type this, so Chicago could be number 18.

I didn't realize he was that bad. Hopefully that is a one game oddity and he returns to some semblance of a defenseman when he is put in the line up.

More that nobody has room for him. They'd have to keep him on the NHL team (30 days or 10 games), or re-expose him with the Flyers having the opportunity to claim him and immediately assign him to the Phantoms anyway, if nobody else claimed him. Basically, nobody would be able to claim him and put him in the AHL.

7 NHL games played 2 years ago is not much experience to put a waiver claim in under those circumstances. Assuming the rest of the league had 2 healthy goalies at the NHL level

This seems fair but if Stolarz is as good as we make him out to be i would think someone would've put a claim on him and did the three goalie shuffle just like we are doing
