It would behoove the Canucks to win tonight to avoid the May 11th curse (previous two seasons the Canucks season has ended on May 11th).

This series has kind of reminded me of some of the old Oilers-Stars tilts of the 90's. One powerhouse, and an underdog that just can't seem to be shaken.

A lot of people have been making references back to the 2003 playoff series between Vancouver and Minnesota. Not a pleasant memory for Canucks fans.

40 years of them Eddie. The media and some border line fans always wonder why guys like the ones on these boards go into a sense of freak when this team performs like this. it doesnt have to be this way. and its like this every year. they just give us a sniff and end up performing like they have. I still think and believe we will beat nashville. We have to. I mean no offense to the fans but that team has no business being in this series. but they are and as a result of course deserve the respect. this series should ahve been over in 4 and if not for Luongos gaffe in game 3 it would have been. so now we have 2 extra games to play. Thank god the Wings are extending that series. Assuming both Canucks and Sharks win (though both could have doubts now) they will have the same rest.

The Sedins are the only players that were here when we lost to the Wild 3-1. another team that had NO business being there but they were and the Canucks were a dominant team back then as well. I see many similarities except no Cloutier meltdown. I hope they remember that loss. I hope they find a way (the Sedins) to get through this.

Also I think more of the momentum was changed by Kronwall's huge hit on Clowe. Part of it was the hit itself, part of it was the recipient. As much as players claim to ignore the papers, you know what Clowe said got back to the Wings locker room, so when Nick Jr laid him out I'm sure it charged the bench.

Several other props helped make their performance better than the team itself Saturday, but nothing was better than them stroking the hair of a cardboard cutout of Carrie Underwood while her husband, Predators forward Mike Fisher, sat just feet away in the box.

Best part about it came after the TV cameras left the scene when Fisher noticed them and burst out laughing. He even exchanged a few playful words with them.

“I was going to give her a kiss, but I thought it was too serious of a game,” said Fisher with a laugh afterwards.

“If it was a regular-season game, I would have.”

hes a good sport. those guys were fraking CLASSIC on Saturday. REally well done. they are not becoming a flash in the pan they are really becoming great mascots for this team. really good stuff.
