Another great game for the Wings in the neural zone. That's one of the ways to keep Chicago noff their game. Way to go boys. Also, Shaw loves to give out hits, but he went absolutely ballistic when Abcruncher doled out some of his own medicine on him.

whatever happens at this point this is one of the more satisfying playoff runs in a long time, excluding the cup wins, which of course are more than satisfying.

seeing the young kinds come of age with the new corp of captains, zettys first run with the c, howard really proving himself, the unexpectedness of it all.


naturally i am greedy and want more but this is hella fun.

not bagging on emmerton but with the way the game turned at the end tonight and the strong play of tootoo during the stretch run what are the odds that he replaces emmerton for thursday to instill some law and order?

i am thinking 3:1 tootoo makes it to the lineup. he skated hard all season and plays good defense. with everyone's blood boiling and the momentum in the balance i think we unleash our enforcer to make sure everything stays balanced on home ice.

I highly doubt we see Tootoo in the lineup anytime soon. Emmerton has been solid on the PK. Him, Miller and Eaves work great together.

Wings are on fire, winning 10 of their last 14 games. I think they have a legit chance to go all the way to the finals if they stay this hot. The next game is the biggest one of the year. I hope this season is a lesson to spoiled Wings fans used to seeing them as the 1 seed who didn't even want to see them in the playoffs. That's all we heard around here at the end of the season now look at them. Playoff sports is all about who is hot at the right time and right now that team is Detroit.

this series reminds me so much of the old wings flameouts back in the day as the number 1 seed. wings had all the skill, but the other team simply outworked the skill. this is exactly what the wings are doing to the hawks right now

I'm not as concerned for the physical stuff that the Hawks are handing out, since we seem to be holding our own on that front. Tootoo in the lineup? Not a chance, particularly against the Hawks, primarily because he has a target on his back with those in the NHLOA ranks, and any type of 5-minute penalty, which he is known to commit when he goes ballistic, would be destructive to the Wings chances to win that game. To keep the Hawks off the score sheet for a 2-minute penalty is one thing, but a 5-minute one puts too much physical wear and tear on our players, especially for later in regulation or OT. We are much better off having Tootoo sit for this series. Sometimes, as the old adage says, "you've got to be careful for what you ask for".
