Gotta love OV getting crucified for calling out refs, but Toews gets sympathetic head tilts from the media in comparison. There really is a difference in North American/Russian players and how they're portrayed. Just bizarre sometimes.

Be careful - that's a Chicago newspaper. It's to be expected. Unless you have been hearing stuff from other media outlets?

Well yeah, but within moments of OV complaining the entirety of twitter and all the media mongers exploded. Toews does it and people are very "meh, it's Toews...he's a good kid." Could just be a lack of coverage in comparison...I guess?

I admit I was shocked by what I saw today. Detroit looked like a completely different team. I expect the Blackhawks to bounce back. They simply have too much talent not too. However, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if this series went 7 games.

I don't know what to think after that victory last night. Starting to believe this series goes 7 games.

Chicago Blackhawks: Hawks-Red Wings rivalry has faded - Chicago Tribune

Apparently, Dan McNeil followed the pied piper out of the closet also donning a Hawks jersey a few years back when he saw a more successful team in the Windy City than those "upside" Cubs. Hey Dan were you watching that afternoon game in the NHL yesterday afternoon or did you have an assignment to cover the National League East?
The Closet Man strikes once again.

The 3rd game will be the key to the series. If we win this game we have a significant chance to move to the next round, if not, I believe we're out. The Hawks will be coming at us like Attila with the Huns right behind him. If we don't respond like the Roman army, the Hawks get the advantage back by moving ahead 2-1, forcing a 4th game that we must to win, or else it's a necesary three straight wins to stay in the playoffs, which we all know isn't going to happen on this side of our lives. We again "must" keep both Hossa and Toews at bay by preventing them from being able to create very much. And, as long as their dmen are not involved too much offensively, as was the case in game 2, which is rather unlikely, we will have an excellent chance to come away up 2-1.

This young Red Wings team knew Chicago was going to come at them with their best game...and they took Chicago out. I'm so proud of this team that it's not even funny.

This is no longer even the same Red Wings team that won the last 4 regular season games in a row to squeak into the playoffs. :usa2:

Agreed. Even if the hawks do win this series, wings have at least given them a run for their money
