Like Denver last season Boston had a relatively easy road to the Finals.

Let's see what they do when they get there.

Dallas will be the best team they have faced this postseason.

I am really trying to stay out of this stuff man.

You just trying to start drama.

By the letter of the law it is probably a flagrant. But the rule is stupid. Because that play was a straight up freak accident. Brown put his hand up to try to get the ball and the body positions of the players combined with the size difference made the contact look really bad.

what do you want Brown to do different on that play? Get out of the way?

Should have been a flagrant by the letter of the law. But would have been a hell of a soft flagrant.

And you getting so bent of shape about it is pretty funny.
Don’t want Brown to do anything different. As I said last night during the game , almost all flagrant 1 fouls are unintentional and unfortunate. Hitting someone in the face unintentional or not falls under the criteria for a flagrant 1 by the letter of the law. This was a blown call

One thing about Mazz... the players seem to genuinely like and respect him.

I'm not sure that was ever true for a guy like Ham.
True, but Udoka was a much better coach.

Yes, I know why he was fired. Just saying.

Because when a coach wins with a super talented team, they were supposed to win.

This team is hands down the best and deepest in the league.

Best Dallas?

Then maybe he can get a little praise. He doesn’t earn it for beating 3 vastly inferior teams. The Celtics should be exactly where they are.
A completely healthy Knicks team would have given them a run for their money in the ECF. Despite Boston being the better team.

Maybe from a x's and o's standpoint... Udoka has as much to prove as Mazz, though.

Meaning: scoffers would demand big wins and championships from Udoka if he were still the coach of the Celtics right now... claiming he only wins because of a treasure-trove of talent.

Here is what you always completely fail to understand.

The batting average for a good NBA official is probably about 65%. They are always going to miss calls because it is very hard to do in real time, and even with the benefit of slow motion replay, there is room for interpretation.

Show this clip to 100 trained officials, and I believe most will say it is a flagrant. But it won’t be 100%.

Yet it seems like you watch these games just waiting for the “gotcha” moment where the officials get something wrong.

I got news for you. They always will.

If you choose to let that trigger you? That is on you.

Actually making the product better?

That is on the NBA. They need to figure out how to use technology to assist their officials in real time.

And guess what?

Even then they won’t get 100% right.

Very true.

I can only go by appearance.

Udoka looked like he was in control. And he did take the Celtics to the Finals when they weren’t nearly as strong as they are now.

Mazz might be okay as a coach. But something about him just doesn’t inspire confidence though to me.

Yeah, I hear you.

It may have something to do with their physical size and presence... Udoka is a big, commanding dude... Mazz is small and seems slight by comparison.

I'd agree that I felt more 'gravitas' (for lack of a better word) from Udoka.

Bottom line: these Celts gotta win it this year.

Yep and while Boston is the better team in a lot of people's opinions a lot of people seem to think a Boston vs Dallas series is a tossup.

Dallas is playing really well right now.

So have you crucified all the other coaches that have failed?

Nothing for 2 ECFs?
Nothing for most wins?
Nothing for keeping multiple stars feet grounded?

Well if this is really you thoughts, so be it.

You don't play the game to make the ECF.

LOL.

It's the playoffs, dude... sh!t gets called differently with a bias towards everybody putting on their big boy pants.

You know this, of course.

You just like talking about the refs AND you hate the Celtics. ;) :D

Yeah, actually. When the shoe fits.

I was all over Scott Brooks back when he was winning coach of the year awards.

History proved me right. He was a bad coach who won games because he had 2 (3 for awhile) top 10 players on his team.

Coaches get fired for losing with bad teams and they often keep their jobs for winning just enough with good ones.

The way most coaches are evaluated is wrong.

As a rookie coach? Now in the finals? Not bad. Betting many other GMs are wishing they signed him. LOL

Well you got the evaluation statement spot on.

What happens when good coaches lose with good/best teams? Do they suck? Only one team wins it every year. Grading a coach like that can be considered ignorant at best. Some potential good coaches never get the chance when they get stuck with shitty GMs.

As I already mentioned there is more to coaching than Xs and Os whether with a good or bad team.

Yeah....

Brooks is now an assistant after his failures with the Thunder and Wizards. Nobody in a hurry to hire him as their next HC.
