Just realized that both teams are hitting their DH leadoff. One of them makes sense.

Also just noticed that the top of the lineup has been fairly stable recently. I guess that is what (the other team) winning does for Melvin. Yup, we are having a lot of success with the 1-4 hitters in this order. Let's keep running them out like this.

That was just about the most brutal called third strike I've ever seen. He didn't come CLOSE to going around.

OTOH, it just means he would've seen another pitch or two before making the third out.

I believe Fitz is the real deal
I don't remember Fitzgerald being talked about much. I am not even sure he came up with the Giants. Was he ever considered a prospect in the sense that he had some good ceiling for his future?

He is a product of the farm but was never ranked very highly but has been fairly productive throughout the minors

It such a big help when you can get players from the farm who out preform their expectations it can help build a winner if you can hit on some higher expectation prospects. You don't have to trade to fill in weaknesses.
