Here is an interesting stat to consider: 8 of 12 teams in the playoffs had the least yards allowed; but 11 of 12 had least points scored against. I understand that that some of the points allowed are not the D's fault. Here are the numbers:

Yards allowed:
Rank Team Yards
1 Denver Broncos 283.1
2 Seattle Seahawks 291.8
3 Houston Texans 310.2
5 Arizona Cardinals 321.7
6 Carolina Panthers 322.9
7 Kansas City Chiefs 329.3
9 New England Patriots 339.4
11 Cincinnati Bengals 340.8
13 Minnesota Vikings 344.2
15 Green Bay Packers 346.7
21 Pittsburgh Steelers 363.1
28 Washington Redskins 380.6

Points allowed:
NFL Rank Team Points
1 Seattle Seahawks 277
2 Cincinnati Bengals 279
3 Kansas City Chiefs 287
4 Denver Broncos 296
5 Minnesota Vikings 302
6 Carolina Panthers 308
7 Arizona Cardinals 313
8 Houston Texans 313
10 New England Patriots 315
11 Pittsburgh Steelers 319
12 Green Bay Packers 323
18 Washington Redskins 379

Yes indeed in the last 2 games there were 4 TDs or 28 points scored against the Packers because Rodgers fumbled while being sacked or while attempting to pass that were credited against the defense. If you take off 28 points they are 295 and 4th on the list but it is what it is.

When you have to explain a joke, I can't get no satisfaction.

There are going to be a lot of deflated balls on that field due to the chilling temps... In some cases, you could see up to 44 at a time on the field...

Oh he didn't say "I would say thet Denver owns the title of best defense this year #2 is only the first loser"

Pretty sure you don't win any trophies for having the No. 1 ranked defense.

You also don't get a trophy for having the 2nd best defense that loses in wild card game in frigid temps.

I don't really take you seriously because I think you're just trolling, but what are you gonna say when Seattle stomps their guts out? They got lucky?

Kicking will be big but it will also effect the passing game.

The balls are going to be hard and slick. In this cold of weather no amount of heating will help that.

The one downside is that right now in MN it is 32 degrees. It's not supposed to get cold until Sat night. Which means the Vikes won't get to practice in the super, super cold so it does negate the advantage a little. Just being acclimated to the weather is a huge advantage....anyone who has experienced the radical difference between a 35 degree day in the fall and a 35 degree day in spring understands that.

People who have seen games where it is 20 degrees and the game not be all the effected simply doesn't understand just how much colder 0 is. It is going to be so cold that frostbite will start to take hold in less than 10 minutes of expose.

This is going to be a miserable experience for the players. The team that advances is going to have one hell of a time turning around and playing another playoff game the next week. I wanted to put Seattle in the SB in my playoff bracket from the NFC but couldn't do it knowing they would have to play this brutal game, fly home and then fly back out to Carolina.
Isn't heating up a football considered manipulating equipment?

Indoors. It's a $1B stadium. Not going to build something that expensive that can't be used for other events 3-4 months out of the year. And of course no roof means no SB.

IMO football and especially playoff football shouldn't be played outdoors in conditions like this if you can help it. The teams should decide the outcome....not the weather.
Elements are part of the game. Both teams have to play in them. I think playing in terrible conditions show just how good your team is at over coming just one more obstacle. I loved games in the snow and cold.

Snow games are the best. Love when they have to shovel the lines out and when players go sliding 10y on their asses. Cold? Meh. Not nearly as entertaining on TV as snow, but we will see how it shakes out.

Back to the fuzzy unmeasurable metrics. You're consistent, I'll give you that.
Same formulas he uses to figure out his winning percentages.

I think it's going to suck more for the fans watching the game than the players playing in it.

I'll give the Vikings a slight advantage since they will be able to practice in it throughout the week.

The cold will be an immediate shock to the body and it'll suck for the first quarter or so but once the game gets going and everyone's adrenaline kicks in the players will adjust to it.

I have a feeling that the cold is going to impact the players more mentally than physically. The ones that will be successful will be in such a zone that they forget it's even cold out.
I think if beastmode is healthy he and Micheal will dish out some serious punishment to the Viking D. More so than AP. Bruising backs can put a hurting on LBs and DBs in cold elements.

I really don't take you seriously either. You're a homer that is taking a blind eye to the fact that Seattle doesn't have the same "it" factor that Vikings will have in the upcoming cold weather game. You'll see, and you'll likely blame the refs.

Not me. I want to see the best athletes in the world on a fast track. Screw the elements. Lets make it about the game and not the weather.
This could be said about extreme heat and humidity. Players cramping and needing IVs. As heat cramps, heat stroke start to take effect players lose their effectiveness.
