That’s two uncalled cross checks that have led to injuries in 4 days of play thus far.

Ice is also starting to show that maybe 10 uses a day in August isn't such a great idea. His right foot dug in and launched him forward. Made far worse by the fact that Bjorkstrand's shin pad was there.

It’s the principle. The refs were calling everything in this one, should’ve been a call there. Wouldn’t have changed anything regarding Muzzin but the Leafs had a 2 goal lead and had a minute left to kill on a penalty.

I should add that I don't think it should've been a suspension either but the fact that these crosschecks go uncalled regularly and they often lead to serious player injury is NHL "player safety" in a nutshell.

The safety part is supposed to start with and primarily be handled by the guys in stripes and whistles in their mouths. They are selective as fuck in what they let go and what they whistle down and the end result is yesterday. It's bullshit. Calling it an "unfortunate accident" when its plays like that that lead to exactly this kind of crap is just icing on the cake.

And yes, Kadri would've gotten at least a game for that.

Jake Muzzin Injury Update

Of all the things I would have though was injured, hand wasn't near the top of the list. So glad his neck wasn't damaged.

I'd play 11 and 7 and split the minutes up, play Sandin in sheltered spots in the offensive zone and MarMar fills in on the PK and the D zone. 4th line didn't play much anyway, split Engvall's minutes between Matthews and Tavares.

I’d like to see this. I think they have to get Sandin involved, otherwise what was the point of burning a year of his ELC?
