I think it's more guys like Saffold and Sullivan who might be playing hurt... If you notice, Teams are getting lots of pressure up the middle against us lately, I don't remember that happened at all earlier in the season. I think Goff is getting scared to death of getting crushed and so his throws are off.

With the Saints win, they pretty much assured themselves the number one seed. Their magic number is one, either a loss by the Rams or win by them clinches them HFA.

I think teams are starting to figure out the offense.... I'm not buying injuries since every team is beat up about this time of the year. Stop Gurley and make Goff beat you with his arm, which from what we've seen has been the formula the last few weeks. Protection is breaking down some yes....but all in all he is making terrible decisions with the ball with his turnovers as of late. McVay needs to correct this now, switch up play calls and right the ship... The Saint's will probably have home field advantage through the playoffs and whatever issues this team has needs to be checked like last week!

This is what our offense has been reduced to recently.

"The entire offense has gone in a funk, which happens when opponents take away one of your biggest strengths. Goff’s numbers tell the whole story. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL through 11 games. Over the past three he has been one of the league’s worst: 726 yards (a lot of which came late against the Eagles after the Rams dug a big hole), one touchdown and seven interceptions. He has a miserable 51.3 rating."

Some have suggested that Goff misses Kupp badly because of his disciplined route-running and his sure hands. I think this is one factor. Another is the sudden fragility of Gurley. Another is we are rather thin in the back-up department. Also, defensive coordinators have figured-out McVay and his offense and McVay is going to have to be more unpredictable going forward. It helps to play a weenie team like the Cards. Maybe we will put some things together and come out of this game with a huge win.

It must be hard for him to step into his old roll. Punt and kick returns are tough as it is but to be off so long and try and do it again must be hard to do. Maybe cutting him will be good for him if another team picks him up.

We also need some youth on the O-line. Sullivan is playing injured. Allen should get some reps this week and/or next and Noteboom should be in there in place of Whitworth.
