No doubt but he as SB's behind him and we don't.
And SM has built several SB winning teams. I'm glad you're starting to see why we shouldn't be ripping on him constantly.

Deans outright hate of SMGM comes down to one simple thing... the first round of the 2015 draft. The moment we took Scherff over Williams, Dean was sold that the man was a horrid GM.

No it was part of it but not all of it. What about the Steven Paea pickup shark. Explain that one.
That was Sm's first year as Gm. Rumor had it that he had full control over the draft.
not a totall rip but he deserved to get ripped not a free pass that you guys are giving him.
Not one mistake. Sm has made plenty of mistakes but somehow he get a free pass from this board. Im not saying he deserved to get fired but he wasn't a great GM here.
Rumor from who? If it came from the Redskins organization then you can't believe a word from them. Beyond that how would the media even know who makes the decisions. They apparently have been fooled for the last several years. Heck - SM was apparently regularly showing up for games & practices drunk yet not one member of the media reported this (& several no doubt would have in a second).![]()
Hey Dean, I like to take your side when it possible to do so. Not sure if you've noticed but your opposition in this thread has admitted Scott made a mistake with the RB situation. I'd even go further and say based on what was available and based on Matt Jones injury history and college production -- it was an epic mistake. But that's what good GMs do, they take a risk. And in case it doesn't work out, they cover their bases -- ex. Rob Kelley.
I will say Scott did a great job while he was here -- as far as changing the culture and putting the team in a position to win. Its too early to say his drafts were total fails. Its also not his fault, he never got a fair deal from the start and Bruce gets jealous if he doesn't get all the credit.
When Sm was hired they said he had full control
many have given Sm a free pass on here. I just disagree he did a great job while he was here. He didn't deserved to get fired but a great job to me is stretching it.
They? As in the Redskins? Hey - I have some prime property in Florida that you might like - interested?

I use "great" based on the results. NFC EAST champs and barely missing the playoffs last year.
Back to back winning seasons just doesn't happen in our division. rumor has it, he didn't get to bring in his own people but got stuck with the scouts that were already there. He had to beg for Cousins to start, and was denied a LTD a year ago. So despite, being crippled he excelled. Who knows? maybe even some of his draft plans were tampered with.
Synder, media, whoever. He had full control at the time of the draft.
He took over a team that had a combined 7 wins the previous two seasons, and had a combined 17 wins over the next two seasons. He convinced the owner, and his bone headed lackey that sticking with the results of a bad trade was a bad idea. So short of winning a Lombardi, what exactly the fuck would you consider a GREAT job in light of what he took over?? Mind you he was apparently STILL dealing with a meddling owner and a bone headed lackey team president. Scot apparently wanted to Sign Kirk shortly after he was made the starter in 2015 to a long term deal. But said named bone head twins were too concerned with hurting the feelings of the failed one.
So again... if Scot didnt do a great job, he did a damn good job... but you are all happy faced emoji for the guy who thinks the best thing to do is win off the field. That shit never gets old. Gus Frerotte probably sent Bruce Flowers after that clip, because it means he wasnt the one to do/say the stupidest thing in redskins history any more.
I believed that at the time but definitely have my doubts given what has occurred over the last month or so. Do you not believe that it is at least possible that Allen or Gruden had significant input for these picks? Main pt though is that if Snyder made this claim then it mean absolutely nothing since he can never be trusted again.
But the results didn't come from his players. Came from Sahnnys. Gruden begged for KC to start.
