The position mattered b/c we ended up with Jones.
So are you arguing that the Patriots didn't value Richards over Johnson?

BB did not want a Rb at that point of the draft. We did. He fell in our lap and we passed on it. Its like when the Titans took Kevin Dyson over Randy Moss. Why cant you call out the Titans???
Im arguing that the Patriots wanted a DB and valued Richards as the best DB avaaible.
So you think that the Patriots would rather have Richards still?
What? You can call out the titans. They messed up. This isn't that complicated. If you take a less valuable player ahead of a more valuable one then you made a mistake. This happens to every single team every single draft. Stop freaking out about one instance of it.
This doesn't matter b/c its different positions. We were on the clock and one of the best Rb's was there and we traded down. Simple as that. A lot of fans are upset about this.
Right they messed up. So did we.
Right. Just like every other team in every other draft ever. So who cares.
How does that not matter?
This is a simple question:
Who do you think the Patriots would rather have right now? David Johnson or Jason Richards?
who cares? that is the reason why that we are in the market for rb right now.
stupid question. it doesn't matter. we drafted Jones.
Sure. But you're freaking out about this one mistake. Every team has made DOZENS of similar mistakes in the past couple years alone. So again there is no need to be freaking out about this. Just take a breath and move on.
Not one mistake. Sm has made plenty of mistakes but somehow he get a free pass from this board. Im not saying he deserved to get fired but he wasn't a great GM here.
Ya know who else has made plenty of mistakes? Bill bellicheck.
stupid question. it doesn't matter. we drafted Jones.
No doubt but he as SB's behind him and we don't.
You're avoidance of admitting Belicheck messed up too is impressive.
You stated it correctly "we" (as in the Redskins organization - does not include fans). Given what everyone has learned in the last month you can't assume that this decision was made only by SM (as much as you would love to given your disdain for him).
Allen, Snyder and/or Gruden may have been just as much responsible for this decision. BTW - I fully expect the Redskins to make more mistakes in this draft & pretty much in all future drafts. It happens all of the time. The key for the Redskins is that at least they now retain most of their picks so the overall impact is not as great.
