Comparable because they're both wwwestern fans?

McCarron doesn't have the arm that Cousins has, but the guy simply gets the job done whenever given the opportunity.

That's an interesting point and to me that's the bottom line. I among others was challenged to come up with someone who could replace Kirk if the occasion arose. I did and the very ones that made the challenge don't like it. That is fair for them to do, but to deny, as you've correctly stated, that given that opportunity that McCarron can't or won't get the job done is frankly silly on their part IMO.

To assume that he would be as good or better is just as absurd, but its your opinion and you are entitled to it. Might he be?? Sure. But I would be curious to see the number of times our own fans proclaimed, well teams have tape on Cousins now, so 2016 should be the real test to see if he is as good as his nine game stretch in 2015 would lead one to believe. Despite the all great wins/losses tracker which is paraded out statistically Kirk has shown he is just as good as 2015 would indicate, and not in a limited fashion or coming as a replacement due to injury or suspension. So I will give you that given the opportunity McCarron might just turn out to be as good or better than Cousins. But to say, based on his limited opportunity on another team that he is better now is a stretch.

You know what....you're right!! Objectively I can say that he would be just as good given the similarities in the offensives that each plays in. Better than Kirk, is a subjective assessment on my part and although I'll continue to defend that point, it is indeed a bit of a stretch.......until......he proves it. Until then, I stand corrected!

S.N. please don't tell @Dean this but there are rumors that there's a Sheldon Richardson for McCarron trade in the works. He's real fond of Richardson.

So - this guy has truly played in what - 4 or 5 games? So since he is basically the same size as Cousins & plays in a similar offense it is a given that he would be just as good as Cousins? Nope. It could happen, but it is far from a given. There have been tons of failures at QB in the NFL for guys who are the right size, have all of the athletic talent, come from the right system, are drafted high, have a great attitude, etc, etc, etc. This basically guarantees nothing.

At least with Cousins you have a very solid body of work over an extended period. You cannot make those claims for guys who have only played a handful of games. If so guys like Matt Flynn would be stars in the NFL.

Let's not play the supposition game because it is just as easy to suppose that Kirk has already peaked and we are about to see a downward slide. See what I mean? It's not a given that Kirk will do what Kirk has done. No doubt he has numbers, but at the end so did Peyton manning.

Good find - this kid is proving lots of folks wrong. Would not matter for the Redskins last offseason - they were not selecting him & the Allen pick was a good one. However - for a team like the Browns it is a different story. You never know w/ QBs.

Happens every draft. Combine hype and kool aid strikes again

Question is. How many of these front office organizations are full of complete morons? Rams were stacked with morons for almost 15 years

It is a little early still but I have been impressed. He is on pace to throw 40TDs and 20 picks. High on both ends of the spectrum. Lets see if and how the league adjusts to him.

Kid is doing awesome for the Texans. So I admit I was wrong in that I thought he would be a total waste.

Still not sold he would have been a fit in our offense any more than the last mobile QB we had.
