I am prefacing this by saying total speculation. But it is entirely possible that Danny and George's son do not like SM, he's not a yes man enough, look at his free agency and draft history of only 2 seasons and have decided he is out. How scary is that?

Turning to page 2 of Days of our Lives it is also possible that Kirk was so offended by the low offers from the team (Allen I assume) that he has no intentions of signing long term here. Ever.

So by sheer incompetence we could be out a top talent guy and a top 10-13 QB. And of course we all know what that means.

Just shoot me now.

Still don't know the real story on any of this. However - if your first paragraph is true (or mainly true) fine - I don't have an issue with that. However - I have a major issue in how they appear to be handling this type of situation. Just come clean already. One of the guesses in this area is that Snyder is trying to outwait SM forcing him to resign to save some $$. What BS.

The only way I give Snyder and co a pass on all of this is if SM comes back & resumes his duties (which appears more unlikely each day) or if this is truly alcohol related in which case they are almost in a no win situation. Americans are always more forgiving when folks are honest - this thing appears to surrounded by dishonesty and cover ups - would love to be wrong.

They done fucked up again Skinsdad. We were so close! All we had to do was bring everyone back on offense and let Scot do his thing and add a couple of pieces on D. But no.........they couldn't help themselves and let the only football mind in the building do the job you brought him in to do.

They gotta find a way to figurethis out. I think Bruce is mad that Scot played hardball with Kirk last year and may have cost the team their franchise qb. It's a lot of rumors but it all stinks to the high heavens.

This could all be premature, but what I read is, Scot was essentially a glorified scout, and the minute he tried to make a big move that BA and DS didn't agree with, he had to go.

In a wide-ranging column detailing the Redskins' impending split with GM Scot McCloughan, the Washington Post explains that the separation was caused by McCloughan's lack of control, arguments over signing Kirk Cousins long term, and the Redskins' lack of support for McCloughan.

We would recommend reading the piece below if you're any kind of an NFL fan. McCloughan felt disrespected the Redskins did not defend him when Chris Cooley spread a rumor McCloughan had resumed drinking in excess. McCloughan also told people in 2016 he would have signed Cousins long term "if he had full control," which "angered" team president Bruce Allen. McCloughan and the coaching staff also clashed over McCloughan's preference of more-talented Rashad Ross over coaches-pet Ryan Grant. The Post reports McCloughan never stopped drinking, but "several peers all agreed they didn't believe McCloughan's drinking ever hindered his job." Per the Post, the Redskins and McCloughan are currently "in the process of workout toward a buyout." Allen and coach Jay Gruden have won the power struggle.

A fantastic summary with some new interesting details of the story of the dysfunctional Washington Redskins... https://t.co/3ThFk7z8UE

Don't know if it's already been posted, but here's what happened.
If the Mike Jones article is true, Allen is truly a piece of garbage as a person and as a professional. It was always clear he was an empty suit as far as being a football man imo, but I figured he was a decent guy and someone who could run an organization in a professional manner. His new nickname - Fredo. He's dead to me.

This isn't going to stop me from being a Skins fan, but it's losing its luster, and I'm more interested in the Wizards.

But he's Dan's guy. Thats all that matters. They can go hire a new GM all they want, but does that really mean anything if Bruce has final say?

When you hire someone to be the GM, you let him do his job if you want to succeed. That's what the boss is supposed to do. Bruce Allen is nothing more than an empty suit. He's never been a legit football man.

Any hire will be more to Allen's liking and that means that the guy will be a glorified 2nd lieutenant yes man. I'm already hearing about a couple of guys who worked with Allen.......wait for it......In Tampa.

This pisses me off because in Scot We Trust not without him. This organization is making a HUGE mistake by letting him go. The man was building us into a winning competitor in the league and now I see us going back to 4th in the division. I see KC leaving us without us getting anything in return. Suck up your pride Allen and sign KC to a huge contract. DO NOT LET him leave. Paying to much for any positions is dumb but its okay/understandable if that position is your starting QB. We have seen how hard it is to find a true QB lest open up Snyder's check book for a player we know is worth the extra million. Reward the Skins who deserve it before a free agent who hasn't played a down for us. Scot was doing a amazing job and I am not sure who to blame for his departure but I lean to side with Scot over the others who we have seen failing us time after time. If Scot is drinking I hope and pray he gets the help he gets. If Scot was just tired of lack of control 1) I hope we can fix it and get him back happy but highly doubt it 2) if he does leave lets pray not in our division or conference. Damn how can we continually screw up. Are we like the Browns or even worse because we screw up in different ways.

well its and un named source again so its gotta be true :D

the above hypothesis could be true . it could be total BS

it will come out soon

but its wierd KC disrespects SM after packer game when in fact SM wants him and the press for the last few months have said that BA and gruden want KC and SM is the asshole all from unnamed sources

so something is true for sure

now i am more inclined to believe that SMGM drinking problem is BS as far as resurfacing in a bad way . the real issue is its a power struggle

and its hugely wrong if BA and snyder hung SMGM out to dry by not squelching the alcohol crap and that's an if because frankly we have no hard evidence on anything yet
