It's really not about whether he should or shouldn't be there. It's about there being a cover-up about it - considering that every GM and every scout is there - and SM has previously talked in years past about why he finds it useful to be there. Not being there is simply not done.
Probably have to get more tired. Rather have SM at the Senior Bowl where real football is played than the combine. Anything that is happening there can be relayed to him. HEY Scot, Godwin ran a 4.4 and Ross ran a 4.2! What is Scot's response ... "oh man, I wish I was there to verify that." It is the underwear Olympics for wannabe NFL players.
So we should just ignore all the other links and buy into this one?
I'm getting tired of the argument that the combine is not that important. Stupid way of looking at it. GMs are always looking for a tiny edge. They would never pass up the chance to get more information when their competitors are doing just that. SM is on record as saying he finds the combine very important and every GM of every team every year is there, for a reason.
So yeah the fact that he is not there is significant.
When BA drafted TM. Moses and the rest , they used SM's scouting service . He wasn't at the combine . We ended up with 4 starters and CT
agents are reportedly instructing their players to avoid this team,
Dan could get them when they had crap teams.
