It's really not about whether he should or shouldn't be there. It's about there being a cover-up about it - considering that every GM and every scout is there - and SM has previously talked in years past about why he finds it useful to be there. Not being there is simply not done.

I'm getting tired of the argument that the combine is not that important. Stupid way of looking at it. GMs are always looking for a tiny edge. They would never pass up the chance to get more information when their competitors are doing just that. SM is on record as saying he finds the combine very important and every GM of every team every year is there, for a reason.

IF SMGM is still MIA come March 7th which is the official legal tampering window, then i think we should start to worry. Danny and Bruce running free agency has the ability to be exciting, but scary at the same time.

When BA drafted TM. Moses and the rest , they used SM's scouting service . He wasn't at the combine . We ended up with 4 starters and CT

Amazing you can not see the significance of his absence. It's not just that he is missing the combine, an event he has made very clear is very important to him. It is significant because it makes the team appear to be in disarray. Again. Nobody knows who is in charge of personnel now and moving forward, agents are reportedly instructing their players to avoid this team, very real questions remain about what power, if any, SM will retain.

Agree that you can perceive there is trouble in Ashburn. Resigning the HC sure didn't hurt. I would imagine if there is someone they are interested in they will make things clear. I don't think it means they lose a potential FA. Dan could get them when they had crap teams.

My best guess is one of two scenarios.

1. Scot is somewhere drying out.

2. Scot finally got the Skins out of cap hell and now Danny Boy finally has room on the credit cards and wants to go shopping and no one is going to stand in his way.

I hope you're right. My biggest fear is that Bruce won out in a powe play with Scot over Kirk and now Bruce is back in charge. If Bruce is back in charge I guess we are right back where we started, with him proudly proclaiming how the Skins are winning "off" the field.
