Yep Whiteside never avg more than 9 shots or avg more than 29 MPG in his career. This year he is going to get about 14 shots nightly and play between 33-36 MPG. Obviously this will lead to a boost in his numbers

He needs to get his FT shooting back to where it was.
His form was terrible last night.
We aren't good enough to give away what should be free, easy points.

Cousins is very good, but according to @WiggyRuss , you can't be, if you don't have a ring to back it up.

It's fucking ridiculous.
Just think of all the great, HOF players whose teams just weren't good enough.

His team won once in 50 years, and suddenly he's an expert on what it takes. :L

Let's see his blueprint for a Cavs parade, ever again, when James is gone.
what the hell are you talking about? Thompson simply outplayed Whiteside in the playoffs- Whiteside couldnt even stay on the court half the time since he is such a HUGE liability in the pick and roll.

You hear the sideline mics pick it up- RUN THE PICK AND ROLL WITH WHITESIDE IN IT TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME BECAUSE HE IS CLUELESS HOW TO GUARD IT AND ISNT FAST ENOUGH TO GUARD IT.

i mean- i am ASSUMING you guys watched the playoffs- especially the Charlotte series - where he is being benched because he is such a liability in just about every single teams bread and butter in hte NBA- the pick and roll--- well thats when he wasnt hurt. Tristan? Those are his 2 FORTES- not getting hurt and being maybe the best big man in the NBA at defending the pick and roll, switching onto guards.

and as for Drummond and the Pistons- he is the focal point there and led them to the playoffs and 44 wins at the age of 23 years old. When Whiteside was 23 he was black balled from the NBA. This season some experts I ahve seen predict Detroit to get or have a shot at homefield advantage- not that necessarily think so- but i think they will get somewhere between the 5-7 seed. and hes the main guy- no doubt- who is the 2nd best player on that team? reggie jackson? reggie jackson and dragic are pretty comparable. I wonder how many wins "the most dominant center" in the league gets the Heat this year while smack dab in the middle of his prime years at the age of 28 years old.

You simply are full of shit.
The Heat is playing this season without Bosh or any ability to replace the 24M of cap space he occupies.
That's your example?

Is Whiteside perfect? Of course not.
So teams will try to put rotations out there to attack any weakness.
However, that comes with a price, because if you go that small, he'll crush you at the other end of the court.

No team even figures Tristan into a gameplan decision, which actually makes it easier to get his rebounds.
What was his stat line game 1?
0-6-0?

You're a dumb fuck. As @TurnUpTheHeat said it was created because Wiggy kept ripping Hassan and saying Tristan is the better player. Your whole Miami fans garbage is getting really annoying now

I'm just saying that if I had any sort of controlling stake on this board this thread would have fouled out months ago. This is the type of thread that draws the other 28 NBA fan bases away from the board.

Do you guy really care that much about a single poster's opinion that you need to post 72 pages about it?

Or is it sour grapes that your team isn't it title contention anymore?

You decide.

Those "cheap shots" cost him what? A 7th or 8th team throwing a max at him?

Like I've said before, I've seen/heard first hand of opponents constantly baiting/fucking with him.
He seems to ignore it now much more then originally, but if those players continue to bait/fuck with him, and the refs ignore it, I couldn't care any less if he loosens their teeth with an elbow.

In the meantime, as you wait for THAT to happen, you'll see him dominate opponents on most nights, while Tristan is just an interchangeable part who puts up 0-6-0.

Comparing the 2 as players is what this thread is about, not you're deflection and hoping Whiteside gets a T or 2.

Does @WiggyRuss want to bet that even Larry Nance Jr is going to be putting up better numbers this year?

giving a plodding center htat isnt good enough to be the focal point of your team with a track record like Whiteside for leadership and work ethic is just going to be a disaster.

Devoting 24 million to a guy who cant guard the pick and roll and who needs babysitters to watch him. It will not end well. The guy is incredibly talented- and only his pure and total incompetence and laziness caused him to be blackballed from the NBA and play overseas during younger years.

Now he is in his prime- has a humongous contract- is "the most dominant center i nthe league" and has PLENTy of opportunity on offense. We shall see if he is actually any good this year. in the words of Bart Scott- CANT WAIT.

So now he's a plodding C with no work ethic??

That certainly would explain how he went from a league minimum player to 6 teams offering him a max in 1 season.

As far as I know, he was the only Heat player going to the AAA to put in extra work in the middle of the night at the AAA all summer.

His past is just that. Who cares (except you on this thread because it's all you seem to have)?

Work ethic? That guy lives in the gym all offseason. Please don't talk about Work ethic if you know nothing about him Do you just make shit up?

I'm sorry but when you're out of the league and you work your way back in the league, stay in the league, and earn a max contract. Guess what? THAT'S ALL WORK ETHIC. No way he gets to this point without hard work
