Several key drops will also dramatically change the outcome of a game with two really good teams.
Now you're getting better at this. You think I'm a dumbfuck punkass don't you?
That may be so but a least your a happy one after Vandy's win yesterday. You think I'm a dumbfuck punkass, don't you?
I wasn't that shocked to see Wisconsin do that. They're still a talented running team, and with Clement at full strength, they're not easy to stop. They also pulled out all the stops. Meanwhile, OSU played well in the 2nd half, but again, the drops hurt bad.I was more talking about the defense. I know OSU will move the ball on offense. I was surprised to see Wisconsin put up 450 yards of offense though.
That was my reasoning for saying Bama is far and away the best team, as they have the offense and the defense to score with or shut down another team. I think OSU is going to need another year of experience before they can contend with Bama. I still think OSU and UM is going to be a good game, but unless Speight vastly improves, I don't see UM scoring enough to win. I think either team would struggle mightily with Bama.
Right now, I'm putting Bama, Ohio State, Michigan and Washington on the same level. In all fairness, they might be the 4 best teams in the nation. I think any combination of games involving these 4 would be a 1-score game.
First off, don't you dare capitalize that nonsense.Who are you, and what have you done with Across the Field?
First off, don't you dare capitalize that nonsense.
Secondly, I can't deny, they look dominant. Both teams have played one close game this year, and it's against the same Wisconsin team who very well might be a top 6-7 team in the nation. It's surprising, in all honesty, but Chryst has that team looking legit.
Late November will be here before you know it.I agree, and it's good to see that you do, too. Yet, much remains to be seen.

As far as Bama goes, I don't think this one game means they're "far and away the bes team". OSU might be a year off, but don't forget, this same Bama team barely got past 3-loss Ole Miss, and their defense looked awfully vulnerable against Arkansas.

Yep, Shane's mad!
You guys weren't even this mad after Michigan State destroyed you last year at home. Why are you SO mad?

Everyone has there tough tests. I think Wisconsin caught Ohio St off guard, which is reasonable for a young team but not reasonable for an Urban coached team. The playcalling on offense was out of the ordinary at times (especially the handoffs to Peavy) and they really were confusing Ohio St with their formations. The defense had many blown coverages, the most I have seen in a long time. Seems like nothing went right. Remember, this is the youngest team in the nation and they really grew up. I just think everyone thought they wouldn't struggle at all basically the entire regular season but that definitely isn't the case. I don't think they were fully prepared for that game, which worries me but what I like is how they were able to adjust and do enough to win. When an extremely young team that looked confused at times, has their back against the wall and they step up it definitely impressed me but they have a long way to go to get to Alabama's level.
I sincerely don't think michigan deserves to be in the same group as OSU from a passing attack standpoint. Barrett is an elite college passer. As I mentioned before, if not for some crucial drops, including end zone drops, his numbers look FAR better Saturday and the game likely doesn't go to OT. michigan will struggle against Bama both running and passing; OSU is simply better in both aspects. If Ole Miss and Arkansas can score on Bama, OSU would have little problem. Don't forget - 2 years ago, nobody ran on Bama before OSU ripped them apart.I guess we see Wisconsin in a different light. I agree they are legit on the defensive side of the ball, but offensively, they didn't impress me at all. They ran like 30 times against UM for 71 yards and their QB looks like he is in slow motion when throwing the ball, which is why I said Wisconsin was going to struggle with UM prior to the game (he finished 9/25 for 88 yards and 3 ints)
This is why I said -- if OSU's offense and UM's defense could face Bama -- I like our chances. I honestly don't think UM or OSU has a chance legit shot to beat Bama. Could it happen? Yeah. Will it happen? I think it'd be an upset if it did (meaning Bama would be favored by 7+ points, IMO)
Bama is susceptible to the pass -- that is why Ole Miss gives them fits with Chad Kelly. OSU and UM do not have the passing attack, IMO, to stay with Bama. Running on Bama is next to impossible and that something both UM and OSU rely on. I just think both teams are bad matchups against Bama, which is why I said -- if we could combine OSU's offense with UM's defense -- we could give them a quality game.
I do agree -- the top 4 teams right now based on results -- are Bama, OSU, UM and Washington. Unfortunately, NC State couldn't hit a 30 yard FG, so Clemson is undefeated, so OSU or UM will be on the outside looking in for the CFP. Unless Speight raises the level of his play -- I think UM will have to get help on a defensive TD or return TD to have a shot at beating OSU. I WISH we could have this defense once Harbaugh has one of his own recruits at QB. Unfortunately -- we will lose basically everyone next year on the defense

I saw that you guys are losing a lot on defense (as well as the OL, good lord). However, it's not like you're going to have issues reloading with the way you're recruiting. McCaffery's brother is an interesting prospect, I'll enjoy seeing how he does.
Clemson will lose this season. They have looked so sloppy, they have a L coming.
