Thanks Mingo . I hope you are right about the NFL righting a code of conduct for Observing national Anthems . I watch the Broncos for the love of the game not this crap !

I think it is very likely that the NFL will set a code - it will be talked about at every NFL this year - unless a rule comes out sooner.

I wish these "youngsters " that are sitting and kneeling, would read the history books especially Civil War and MLK Jr. Lots of lives sacrificed/lost and major changes made so they could have the opportunity they now have to bring more awareness without disrespecting the country and those that died for their rights to continue to make America better without disrespecting the very flag that has helped " them " achieve a good life in this Country. They don't have a clue about what sacrifice stands for and what it really takes to make changes . Think they just might need a refresher course and maybe they would act differently. Maybe not.

That argument can be flipped to support Kap and Brandon Marshall's message. Many people of color have gone off to fight for freedoms but in some cases do not get those freedoms in the US. I don't think it is appropriate to simply dismiss them because they irritate your national pride. To assume they should go along because they are in a better place than history has had them is also asinine.

How would you want them to voice their concerns for the social injustice they see?

Maybe you should brush up on history. You don't think this country has come a long way sincere MLK ? You don't think the African American and others have more opportunities than they did 20 yrs ago? Everything takes time and if you want to step back and really see how much progress has really happened since MLK you just might see there has been huge strides. Less use of race card at every hiccup would help imo.

If Kap and Marshall want to do it fine but, beating things to death does nothing either for anybody.

Also how about less minority vs minority violence thats a huge topic that is never briought up.

I just see people as people whether they are green blue orange black or white.

The history doesn't change the fact that there is still a long way to go in the effort. Just because some progress has occurred doesn't mean we should just stop striving to things better.

When we reach a state where color and appearance make absolutely no difference in how people are treated, then we can sit on our laurels. Until that happens there is work still to be done (and the US still has a long way to go to get there.)

Give me a Break ... I use to pay for that break ... now I will not . They are disrespecting everyone that paid to watch the game that was standing by sitting down they were telling people that don't like living in this country . the fire fighters that paid with there lifes saving people at 9-11 and military and police that run to save them .

If the NFL like half an audience they sould keep this up .. People turning there backs like this week in week out might as well stop showing flags .. whats the use.. there is always going to be injustice and it damn well has not a thing with your race .

How many resumes get tossed in the round file because the name sounds "black" or "Hispanic"? How often are people profiled simply because they are a different color? Way too many ( verified by several scientific studies and news stories).

And actually there are PLENTY of people who get jobs because they are white. It's one of the dirty little secrets some want to have stay under the rug they sweep it under.

Randymon you also realize though that those changes happened because people were willing to go against the norm to raise awareness right? I mean going into all white restaurants or sitting in the white section of the bus or peaceful protesting at different events. Saying "hey we have come a long way and should appreciate where we are" is only half the story. Yes celebrate the victory of how far we have come but also understand there is still plenty more to do. I can't get half way done with a project such as say I carpet half my house and say "look at the great job I've done maybe I should just stop and be happy with only half a room carpeted."

Again I ask the question...How else would you rather them get the point across on some of the social injustices going on in our country that you wouldn't find as offensive but would also get the same attention?
