Late to the party again Face...great job!...I didn't see this game, but over the course of the last few days reading various reports...your game breakdown is on point.

Only one point for me.

McCullers reportedly got 40 snaps in this game, and maybe wasn't as effective late, but the thinking is if this guy get 20-25 snaps a game, he can be the force we've been waiting for...he was bulling the starting C into the backfield on a regular basis.
D-line looks really solid this year. Been hearing good things about McCullers. But its definitely good that they are experimenting with Hargrave in 3-4 fronts. Good to see what they have in the kid. We've said it before, but I have a feeling that we will see a lot more 4-3 this season. Add in Ricardo Matthews who has had a great camp & preseason so far, and you've got yourself a well rounded D-line. Would like to see Walton step up and chip in some, but so far he hasn't looked very good.

Seems like Hargrave is fittin right in with them boys!

Again I didn't see it, but I read they did run some 2 DTs snaps with him and Hargrave.

Walton has a back issue I understand...hopefully he can pull it together soon, but right now I feel a lot better about the two stud DEs getting some help with Matthews and Hargrave.

Obviously I've been high on Hargrave, but it's rare when I tout a college kid and the Steelers actually draft him...really hoping this kid turns into a player....they like what they see so far.

Williams signed to new three-year contract

Locked up! Extension for V-Will and nothing for Timmons. Writing on the wall?

No doubt...another situation we've been watching...I knew something like this was brewing when they took so long to extend Timmons and bring his CH down...it's not that Timmons can't play anymore, he's clearly better than VW, but neither are 3 down LBs in the Steelers eyes so scheme has made Timmons and his salary expendable.

Definitely using this VW contract as leverage as well. Timmons doesn't hold any cards anymore, so it will be interesting to see how he values himself next offseason.

AFCN has possibly the strongest collections on TEs in the league with Eifert, Bandridge, Gilmore and Williams in BAL...that hurts the traditional buck's value...especially an aging one.

On one hand I can't blame LT...he's been a stud for a long time, but father time has changed his role...PIT normally likes to take care of their star players on the way out, so I have to think they are being fair. The real issue for Timmons...what is is value to teams like TN that probably would love to have him controlling the middle...if he can make $5m with a team like that, maybe he's gone.

That Swan Song thread may have been a vision...lol...I hope they can keep him still.

No doubt. It will be completely up to him how he wants to finish out his career. I just had to do a double take when I saw that it was his 10th season. That's unreal. Feels like it hasn't been that long.

Didn't think about his situation in terms of the TE position in the AFCN. That's a great point. We've said it before but the tweener LB's are on the rise. Makes me wonder if they are planning on keeping Feeney on the outside, because he looked completely ineffective against the Philly OT's.

Yeah, Shazier can only take one....teams will iso Timmons all game on a TE.

Feeney has been a big topic (surprisingly)...the kid has extreme athletic ability, and supposedly some decent pass rush skills, but he doesn't have the body type to play 3-4 OLB at this level...needs another 20lbs of muscle/bulk.

If he stays slotted outside I don't think he'll make the 53, but he's so gifted I don't think he'll make it thru waivers to stash on PS...6'4" 220ish running 4.5, 30+ vertical, a 4-3 team will snap him up in a hurry as an OLB....to your point, I hope they look at him as an ILB...they had to be thinking coverage LB when they took him.

Preseason...Week 3 @ Saints.

Traditionally the third preseason game is the one the starters play significant minutes...to date...Ben, AB, Bell, Wheaton, and DWill have played very little and in most cases, none at all.

So far, the only player I'm thinking will not play is Bell...we'll have to see how much Tomlin allows the key guys to tonight...I'm thinking at least 1Q, and maybe 2Q.

Not sure I'd put DWill out there either due to the injury risk to your #1 RB for the first 3 weeks of the season.

Good point...you need him to get some real snaps, but they really need him Weeks 1-3.

I think he meant 1st-team offense. Encouraging news! We knew he is talented. Just want to see more consistency.

They just moved some money up for AB.

Good to see this year's Super Bowl MVP get a raise. :D

Love seein that. Had a feeling something was up with multiple restructured contracts. Gilbert & I think it was Mitchell or Ben? Can't remember who else did it with Gilbert.
