They just moved some money up for AB.

Good to see this year's Super Bowl MVP get a raise. :D
Hoo Boy. If Ben makes a receiver SB MVP for a third time....

That would bump his contract demands up quite a bit for next year, too.

At any rate, I think it would have been a lot cheaper to extend the dude now rather than next year.

Unless I missed something, they didn't extend him. They just restructured his contract to beef up his salary this season with the promise of extending him next season. He's signed through 2017, and would become a UFA in 2018. Doubt there is any way that the Steelers could come away with a cheap contract with him.

Right, they restructured and moved next years cash into this year for him.

I'm just saying, resigning him now, would be cheaper than waiting for next year, I think.

Gotcha. Yea I agree. But they don't seem willing to. I think DeCastro will get a contract before the opener.

Yeah. I really worry about how big that contract will be next year. AB will be 28. It's probably reasonable to expect 2-3 more years of his prime and maybe another 1-2 where he is still very good.

Ugh. We definitely have a window with Ben/AB.
