just because you move to another position doesnt make it a bad pick . murphy has every chance at being a starting DE on this team . long is the starting LG in year 2 going into his 3rd year . for a 3rd round pick that is right on target . if he moves to center and starts again he would be right on target

Murphy has to beat out Reyes and Paea to become one of our starting De's. I would be shocked if Murphy is the starter at DE for Week 1. I know he has put on weight but its a longshot. Long was GIVEN the starting LG spot b/c of injury to Lavou and Kojo was just too green as a rookie to become starting material.

I believe these guys are going into year three and its still debatable if they are starting material. Like I said this is a big training camp for both of these guys. Are these guys starting material or just career backups? I believe 2nd and 3rd round picks should be starters on your team by at least year 3. Plus I knew the Kojo pick had something to do with the talent of Long. If we just selected Gabe Jackson over Long we would never had to spend the money on LAvou. Our LG spot would have been locked up for the last two years. A lot of you guys on here still debate this.

To shut me up on this topic, Long would have to WIN the starting LG or C job. Murphy would have to WIN the starting De job. Of course its possible, but I would be surprised if it happened.

So if Kojo can't win the starting job at G this year, was he a bad pick?

I am very interested in the development of Kojo. Long or Lavao just give me the feeling that they will never be good, just serviceable. I know I know it's way early on Long but it's just a feeling I have. I want a GOOD OL with no weak links, that's why I'm hoping Kojo can become that guy at LG.

No, b/c he is only going into year 2. jy you don't think there was a reason for picking Kojo? Dgfan, lavou is making good money. If he loses the LG job he should be released. The guards should be Kojo, Sherff, and Long. Two Centers and three OT's. I think we carry 8 olineman. Reiter has a shot at one of the Center positions. The backup OT should be between Nske and Coefield.

Its not way too early on Long. If Kojo beats him out at training camp for LG then the only way he becomes a starter is at Center. You are right Murphy and Long are just serviceable players on our team. I find it funny that I was argued with that Long was a better pick than Jackson. If we took Jackson we would never had to pay good money for lavou. That draft was saved by Moses and Breeland. As far as I am concerned we whiffed on Murphy and Long. I am also hoping Kojo wins the LG so it was just put an end to the Long conversation.

So this is the expectation that you put on Reiter, why is Kojo different, other than you have been on his bandwagon since last year's draft?

I have no expectation for Reiter. I said he has a shot b/c the talent level at Center is awful. Kojo is different b/c he basically has the same draft grade as Long. No bandwagon jy lets see who wins it in training camp.

I heard the powers-that-be actually think Long has a future at center. We shall see on that. If so, that leaves our LG spot open. Hopefully, Lauvao can return to the form he had before his injury last (as opposed to his play in 2014). If not, we'll see what Kojo has.
