no im saying if kirk demandss 24 million we have options . we can draft a qb in the first round next year, we can say see ya kirk we got colt and sudfeld, either way we are in good shape i think some teams get boxed end with there players and overpay there own aka romo kirk is not worth over 16 anyway we will fine out because if i was a owner i would tell the coaches if kirk wants money make him earn it i want a 75 percent pass and 25 percent run game lets see what kirk gots

There's only one way that Kirk doesn't get franchised again next year.....and that is....if he agrees to a contract in the 13 to 17 million dollar per range. Here's why, assuming that he remains the starter this year and next, 2017 will be his 3rd season at the helm. Add it up guys, a 3 year starter being paid $600,000 the first year, 19.1M the second and let's be generous 25M the third totals out to be 14.9M per. Cap ramifications noted!!

With all do respect Stymie,, you can't franchise Kirk again next year. You'll never be able to get out from under your own weight. 21m guaranteed this year,, 25+ next year,, he has made 46 million guaranteed in two years and you still have to deal with what you wanna do with him. You'd be stuck in cap hell. Lets say they truly believe they just don't know what they got... fine,,let him play all year under the tag to truly gage. You're gonna have to pay him next year or let him walk if he delivers again... trust me,, if he delivers and the Skins still don't believe in him he won't sign... and then bye bye. If he wets the bed and the Skins demote him we are screwed as an organization because Colt 45 or Nate the great ain't gonna be the teams saving grace.

We want KC to be in position to demand a huge salary.. not the opposite. We want to win, remember.

I am really lost about on this post. What is the complaint about Sudfeld? He is 7 years younger than McCoy and therefore why not draft a young QB with experience in a pro style offense to be the eventual backup? I know you touted Kevin Hogan the past year and they are rated similarly. Big arm, smart, accuracy issues.

There is nothing wrong with Sudfield and where he was drafted, he just didn't meet the team needs at the position. Very long term he might prove to be an adequate backup. Remember the vow to have competition at every position? Well it seems that when it comes to that at QB....Using the ole' Brooklyn Dodger refrain....."Wait 'till next year!"

OK, Let's play it your way, maybe there is no drop off between our starter(s) and this guy.:D

WTF are you talking about? Who said the backup is as good as the starter? If that is what I meant wouldn't I be begging to cut KC?

The people complaining had their typical man crushes on other QBs, don't understand the QB position, or they do not understand needs.

More accurately he's made 14.9 million as the teams starter over 3 seasons. This is not that complicated, he either signs for what the team is willing to pat for him or he wears the FT again. BTW: 9-7 is winning (div. title remember?) and he did demand a huge salary. Tell me again what the terms of that long term contract that he signed were?

Sudfield may compete as a backup. He may be developed as a backup QB. Or are you suggesting we sign Ryan Fitzpatrick to push KC...maybe we should have drafted Paxton Lynch to push KC. Seriously...your thought process is Fucked up.

It is a sixth round pick. We need back up players too.

Sudfield needs a lot of work just to become competitive with Colt, that's not a backup, that's a project!

You tried to be a smart ass but missed the smart part. Do you think teams ever draft on potential? Do you think they factor potential in when they think BPA?

Should I try sixth and see if you can keep up?

you're already way behind, it'll just get embarrassing (google it) if you try to catch up, I'll just use smaller words so you won't get confused (google it)

Every player ever drafted into the NFL was drafted on potential!

Let me slow it down. Do players get drafted on physical potential rather than on the field accolades? Check...AJ McCarron versus a Tony Mandarich.

Nope, there's not an either/or choice. Physical attributes are measurable, on field play subjective.

there is a reason gruden wanted sudfeld just like they wanted doctson if sudfeld lights it up in preseason then what ? I think paying kirk 20 -24 mill is insane I like him but not at that cost kirk won't sign nothing intell next year book it. Sudfeld is not here to just deveolpe he is here to replace kirk when kirk demands 25 mill a year and scott mac says fuck off
