WTF is up with the schedule in this series, some ice show committment in Tampa?

This happened in Van/Minn like 6 or 7 years ago and Game 6/7, including travel to/from St. Paul were back to back.

This has to suck for the Caps, DAMN...

Only thing I could see other than the Caps losing tomorrow is the Caps win 3 straight and then lose game 7 because it would make it even worse....

Imagine how Hawks fans feel, I sympathize with them... NOT :D

Hmmm, I wonder if they'll leave the ice surface there for tomorrow's graduation ceremony...that would be fun to watch!

Great series Tampa Bay. I thought this team was too soft and too lax on defense to be stong in the playoff, but I was dead wrong. Going to have a much tougher time with the Bruins in the ECF, but well earned sweep.

Has there ever been a conference finals where both teams go in off of a sweep?

Well, congrats to Tampa.

I didn't think it could feel lower than last year, but getting swept is just ridiculous. They have more talent than two years ago when they went toe-to-toe with eventual champs Pittsburgh for 7 games and they get swept by a one line offense, a no-name defense, and a 41-year old goalie and a team they've owned for about 3 years now? Doesn't make sense.

I like Boudreau and I think he's a great coach that has gotten some bad breaks. I've been one of his biggest supporters. But he has to go now. You can't change one player and make a team feel different about itself. You sometimes can with one coach. That's the sad reality for BB here. He had a great run, but it's gonna take somebody else. You can't have (arguably) a team you'd rank among the best 2 in the conference for 3 straight years and not even MAKE the conference finals ONCE.

They also have to make a big move. I'm not saying blow up the team, but somebody big has to go. I think it's Semin. His apathetic affect on the ice just is not what this team needs, and to me, embodies what is wrong. I also get rid of Knuble - for what he said after game 3 alone. You're supposed to be a vet and a leader and you say something like that? Terrible... and I think he's lost a step this year anyway. IMO, this was his last highly productive year in the NHL.

My hat's off to OV. He played his heart out this series and last and I don't know what more we can ask of from a leader and a star. Backstrom? 4th line? Arnott? You guys were invisible.

Just another year in the near impossible struggle that it is to be a Washington Capitals fan. Heartbreak, disillusionment, and no explanation as to what to fix or where to go from here. That's the worst part.

i know it's no consoloation, and i know a lot of people have made this comparison before, and even over in the wings gnt, but this team is so reminiscent of the wings from the early 90's that team were considered chokers and went out early in the playoffs 8 straight years before winning it. there is some consolation in being that close, though it may be hard to see.

feel bad for the people in dc who actually know and care about hockey.

I love this team! Win or lose. They have played with a great amount of heart and skill. I couldn't be any more proud of all the work they've put in to get where they are and the management that has gotten them here. And fuck it. I LOVE being a southern hockey fan! My "no name" team won't be no name for much longer.

Don't kill me Caps fans. No disrespect meant toward your team at all.

I just hope the Bolts can improve in the areas that they need to go and go on to face the next team just the same.
