Consider the source, first and foremost. But on a practical level we shouldn't be surprised if Elway opts for a low-cost veteran in 2016 over a draft pick that is unlikely to be ready to shoulder the load as a rookie. When it comes to Hoyer or McCown, I definitely prefer McCown, but Hoyer wouldn't be awful either. I don't consider either a major upgrade over Sanchez, honestly. If the Broncos bring either of these in I say they do so and make a late round draft pick at the QB position. Then the team would go into camp with essentially a 3-way battle with a 4th arm to spread load the work around.
Also, sorry to be discussing tired old retreads as the draft approaches. I find I can only handle so much draft conversation before I lose interest.
