I do. I don't think they are merely a function of playing on a bad team. He has good length and athleticism and is a gym rat. He is shooting 41% from deep, up from 31% last season. He'll keep working his ass off once he gets that first big contract. I think he has a bright future in this league. So does the guy that wanted to daft him: Ryan West. He'll be taking over his father's old position with the Lakers eventually.

He reminds me an awful lot of Brandon Knight.

So, you could be spot on.

An honest, sincere question...

Do you really think there have been overboard excuses surrounding the Cavs with the injuries they had last season.

It felt like to me that the Cavs organization and the national media actually did a very good job of not turning the finals into an injury excuse... given the circumstance. Its an impossible storyline to avoid when the 2nd and 3rd best player on a team are missing the NBA Finals. If that was any other team... I actually think it would have been made into a much bigger deal.

But maybe my perception isn't reality... which is why I'm asking.

Not sure if excuses really matter. You either win or lose, and long term nobody will remember why or how, it just becomes a stat.

Point I was making was that lots of people and especially Wiggy said James' left because he couldn't trust the Heat roster to stay healthy, and then when it mattered in year 1, the Cavs were in far worse shape then the Heat ever were.

IF it happens again, then James should and will have to view it as a serious problem.
Cavs basically are down to 2 tradeable assets, Love and Kyrie and aren't looking at having any significant cap space.

While you got guys like Bosh, Wade and (possibly) Dragic on the team demanding top dollar, there's no way they can get Durant even when the cap does go up!

You forgot our best player, Whiteside.

You're a joke.
You said Whiteside couldn't keep up the pace of last years stats and he's exceeded them while playing limited minutes.
You said his temper would get the best of him, so far he's been a model citizen.
He's a game changer because of his strengths. Please show me where I ever said he was a perfect player or didn't have weaknesses.

Is he a max player? Prob not, but as I've said all along, he's going to get paid by somebody.
I've said on the Heat board that I think he's gone.
Riley has some decisions to make, but I trust him.

Now. Heres the stats of 4 players.
You rank them 1-4 in the order you would want on your team.

Player 1. 26.6 mpg 6.7 ppg 9.7 rpg 0.5 blocks
Player 2. 29.2 15.8 8.8 1.1
Player 3. 27.6 12.1 10.5 4
Player 4. 19.2 7.4 4.4 0.9

A model citizen? HAHAHAA..h

I love the back pedaling your doing

over the summer:

Whiteside is our best player

id rather have him than LaMarcus Aldridge

hes better than Kevin Love

Whiteside is the HEats best player

possibly the most dominant center in the game

like getting the #1 overall pick for free

its all a joke- hes a good player- NOT NEAR THE PLAYER you tried to make him out to be this summer- time for you to eat a big ole pile of crow shit lol.

Now you know hes gonna be gone sometime in the next couple months in all likelihood and the BACKPEDALING is going FULLLLLL STEEEEAAAAMM...hahaha...its really hilarious.

Tack another one in the - Im right - your wrong column.

I think everyone in the league if they had to pick between the 3 would take Whiteside over Mozgov or Tristan. He rebounds better than Tristan, scores better than Tristan, and block better than Tristan. It is really not a debate unless you're delusional.
what about Whiteside over Aldridge and Love and Bosh and Horford? according to your friend- thats a no brainer...according to your Heat fan friend- thats an EASY question...

lol....i just love how he ran his mouth all summer- now he sees the writing on the wall for Whiteside getting his ass shipped outta town at some point in the next couple months- and is starting covering his ass already...LOL..i fucking love it...its just so typical.

To an extent, yeah, but it wasn't anything you don't see 20 times a game no matter who is playing... including from bench players and role players. It didn't sound like brutal honesty as much as it did obnoxious exaggeration... "LeBron is Crying!!"... "LeBron should be averaging 12 fouls a game"... "He's LeBron the refs will never foul him out"... etc, etc.

Anyway... I didn't even know the LeBron crybaby thing got all the attention it did. That's not even the part that bothered me. It's the perpetual discussion of every foul call and lack of a foul call that goes against Boston. He wasn't just taking out his bias on LeBron... he literally had to groan about every single call the whole game.

At first, my wife and I were just laughing about it... but by mid 1st quarter it was just annoying.
That's how the commentating was in Indian when they played the Warriors last week.

Celtics were so butt-hurt about that game last night. They came in talking a big game- and ready to try and show they have arrived- and the Cavs methodically choked the life out of them in that 2nd half and exposed them and showed just how far they are away from being able to compete with the clear class of the Eastern Conference.

Jae Crowder tried to go at LeBron and challenge him and got punked. Jr Smith played great. Love played great- and the defense absolutely SHUT DOWN the Celtics in their back yard. Ole Tommy had to be SOOO bitter.

You are totally insane.
He is exactly what I thought he would be.
He's leading the league in blocked shots and is near the top in rebounds despite playing basically half the game.

I never said he was anything but that. An inside force who needed to grow the rest of his game.
PLUS, the rest of his game is dictated by the players around him.
He's not a ball handler. It's out of his control.

Now, when did I ever say the Heat would decide to retain him if it meant giving him a max?
And if teams are going to give him the max, then he has had to have lived up to the hype or they wouldn't be wanting him.

So take your crow and shove it right up your blind, homer ass.

Whiteside will be a force on whatever team he is on.

Kyrie thought better about facing Westbrook in his first game back, smart.

I was really thinking Sunday against the Sixers would be his return- i was surprised they said it was Thursday vs. the Thunder. IF he is off Thursday- that gives him an extra few days and bring him back in a low pressure environment where he can work his way back in.

Its just great that he will be back soon.

Maybe..but who said less money?
A new 4 year max is what it is.
And while Wall/Beal are very nice...Dragic, Wade, Bosh...and ESPECIALLY IMO Whiteside create a better, balanced roster.

Look, IF Whiteside continues to figure this thing out, good luck stopping him.
I'm totally sold on his talent. I prefer his ability over ANY other currently on our roster.
Time will tell.

Preseason, I had the Heat around .500 last year.

I'm not a blind homer at all.

If you are talking about my Whiteside comments, I'll stand by them.
I think he is going to be exceptional.

If he melts down, then I'm dead wrong on my perception of his maturity.

You think if Whiteside keeps on going that Riley would let him leave by worrying about a 34-35 year old Wade?
You don't think Riley would consider moving Bosh if he has a new vision headed by Dragic/Whiteside?

One thing Heat fans have learned is that we can trust Riley and the FO.
If people like you want to believe stories like they made a mistake by sending Miller packing, then knock yourself out.

I'm THRILLED to hopefully have Dragic/Whiteside long term, to build around moving forward.

You can keep James and his annual opt outs.

this last one is my favorite....lol...i have been critical of the aging of Wade and Bosh- but even I- who do not like the Heat at all- would never have been dumb enough to say Whiteside and Dragic would enable Riley to supplant Bosh and WAde...lol...WADE AND BOSH ARE ALL STARS.. BOSH STILL OWNS WHITESIDE....this is just too funny to me

Whats the deal with Whiteside?

EXACTLY WHAT I SAID MONTHS ago.

total head case. Very talented 7 footer. Never a guy you would count on to lead your franchise. He is at like what? 12 and 10 and 4 right now? minute for minute he rebounds at the same rate as Tristan Thompson.

Paul Milsap, Al Horford, Drummond, Monroe, Love, Lopez, Paul George, Noah, Okafor, Gasol, Vucevic, VAluncinuas, Tristan Thompson, Bosh, Porzingis, Jabari Parker, AlJeff, ...

all centers or power forwards in the East -- maybe some dont have the pure talent that Whiteside has- but all these guys have great work ethics, and are good guys have real skill and talent- and I would MUCH rather have them on my team long term than this empty-stat hot-head that cant even play in the 4th quarter of games- who is barely a starter for 1 year in the NBA before complaining about his touches, etc.

EASY Decision.

Whiteside just played his 82nd career game so calm the fuck down.. His stats are pretty damn good for a rookie season.
No question building a team moving forward you take Whiteside over Wade.
Bosh vs Whiteside long term? IDK, prob Whiteside, BUT Bosh is a VERY skilled player also who is already under contract, so as much as Riley might like to or not like to make a different choice, his hands might be tied.

And, Wade will never lead another team to a championship. He's way past being that season long, numero uno.
Dragics role should and will grow if the Heat want to improve, and if it doesn't they made a 90M mistake.

As far as James, still glad he's gone cause we'd still have as many rings as when he was here.
He's going to do another 1 year deal next year and then the super max in 2 years when he's what..going on 33 with another 100000 miles on his body.
By the end of that contract he will prob look worse then Kobe has the last couple in L.A. and thats just figuring age, wear and tear without considering injury.
