True. But they also got him for a lot cheaper than they would have gotten a true 1st round pick, so it evens out a little. I do agree though, that they (or someone) is going to be paying him big money a couple seasons sooner than if they had gotten him in the draft.

Lakers are lucky not to be in this situation with Clarkson.

He's no headcase. But, do you trust his stats enough on this roster to give him 12-15 mil per?

Luckily, he doesn't have enough years of service * Arenas rule*. But, Whiteside does.

i just read this on ESPN .com

4. Which prominent player could be on the move this season?
Elhassan: Hassan Whiteside. His stellar numbers are an illusion, with the Heat much better defensively when the league's leading shot-blocker is off the floor. And his contract situation makes it difficult for Miami to retain him while maintaining the flexibility to improve the team further. Moving Whiteside along with a player like Chris Andersen would help Miami moving forward.

I wish the guy would have expanded on that claim as its fairly hard to believe...hmm...

I don't get the point you're trying to make. @TurnUpTheHeat and I already stated that there is a good chance he moves especially if he wants the max

I was speaking about the part where it said "the miami defense is much better without him on the floor" --- I wonder what kind of stats he is referencing in that statement. Yah- i think you guys agree iwth him that giving him the max would be a blunder

I'm assuming there is stats to back it up. Makes sense when you consider Bosh can guard most centers who aren't post players while with Whiteside in those guys are likely to consistently get open looks because Whiteside is too lazy

That would be a very dumb trade for Miami. Miami would be pretty dumb to do that trade to be honest with you. That trade makes Miami much worse

This is just Sherridan waxing poetic.

I think Howard is gone.

He's just playing the guessing game as to where.

Sheridan thinks the HEat will trade basically Winslow and Whiteside and cap filler for Dwight Howard

And Deng.....and have no true Sfs on the team. LOL that is hilarious.

No way would they trade Winslow for a washed up Howard. Deng and Whiteside I can see but not Winslow.

Sheridan is really reaching

Yeah, that's very fair. I agree that most of his big moments have come in putting a game away early... or contributing to a run to get back in the game.

The thing is that LeBron has been very good at the end of games this season... with the exception of a couple of games. A lot of his 4th quarter performances have gone under the radar. In close games LeBron has had the ball in his hands and - for the most part - teams have chosen to play him straight up and take away his option to pass.

I would love to see more of a team effort - including with Love - in those critical moments... but LeBron has been delivering so I'm not gonna complain for now. I will say that Love has been one of the most vocal and active cheerleaders when he's been on the bench - which is a big difference from last season.
Although that is working in the Cavs' favor now, what will it look like later in the season and into the playoffs? Might we see another exhausted LBJ by the time May rolls around? Or is there a plan to help the other guys become more involved in 4th quarters?

I do. I don't think they are merely a function of playing on a bad team. He has good length and athleticism and is a gym rat. He is shooting 41% from deep, up from 31% last season. He'll keep working his ass off once he gets that first big contract. I think he has a bright future in this league. So does the guy that wanted to daft him: Ryan West. He'll be taking over his father's old position with the Lakers eventually.

the Cavs really beat up on the Celtics...Celtics had been playing really good ball -especially at home- and were really hyped for this game etc....

Really good to see the Cavs play some really good ball and win a game like this decisively even though they still arent 100%. That is a great message to send the Celtics.
