@leftypower - just a thought, but if your QB threw the ball a few more times to my WR, it could possibly help us both out a bit. ;)

On a night when Bees completes 30 passes it would seem Cooks and Snead would have been more involved for sure. With the bye week I'm sure someone somewhere had Watson and came out happy. .....

@tlance I don't know how you do it!!! Somehow every year you trade for an elite RB. Warned everyone not to let you stack your squad but, you r the kings of tradIng for the big time RBs. You always somehow pull it off!!!

couldn't do it... I don't see a difference enough at QB to get rid of my RB depth for a WR on a mediocre offense team... If it was PPR then maybe... but in standard, I don't have cooper being a top 20 WR...
Good point no counter

Week 5 Recap

Okay as I stated earlier, with everything that’s going on in my life right now we’ll have to keep this short this week. Also before we get started there was a scoring adjustment in last week’s Face v. Micro matchup taking two points away from Micro and giving Face the win instead of a tie. We are just going straight into the recaps and then the notes.

Keepers Recap

TKO knocks out Bandit 106-96. TKO got his 1st win of the season with a gift right before kickoff and the 22 he got out of the newly acquired Thomas Rawls was enough to hold off Bandit and Antonio Gates’s Monday Night rally. TKO moves to 1-4 and Bandit falls to 2-3 even though he’s second in breakdown and 2nd in points.

Ram smashes Joe 108-76. Joe got 25 from Freeman, 14 from Dion Lewis and a whole lot of other disappointments and it was no match for Ram who was led by 22 from Forsett and 21 from Bradford and also got good games from Beckham 18, James Jones 13, the Rams D 10 and Adam Vinatieri 11. Both teams move to 3-2.

Tlance puts a spell on Barilko 87-51. Barilko’s team continues to disappoint getting 24 out of Palmer and no more than 8 from anybody else. The wizard was led by Flacco’s 26 (how can you tell me he’s not a wizard, Flacco had two freaking rushing touchdowns) 19 from Allen Robinson, and 16 from Deandre Hopkins. Tlance moves to 4-1 and Barilko falls to 0-5.

Fuzzy beats Sam in straight sets 123-61 . In the biggest blowout of the week, Fuzzy was relentless almost getting enough out of Brady 29, and the Broncos D 26 to win it, but he also got 48 out of his 3 running backs. It is the 1st week that Fuzzy wasn’t involved in the highest score in the MBBRL, but he did have the 2nd highest score. For Sam, it’s never a good sign when you are led in scoring by your defense and it’s only with 12 points. Fuzzy moves to 3-2 and Sam falls to 1-4.

Lefty skewers Chef 127-108 . Lefty got 33 out of Doug Martin and never looked back, getting 19 out of Gary Barnidge which was more points than Baltimore had given up to tight ends in the first four games combined. He also got 19 out of Brees and 18 out of Edelman on his way to the highest score of the week. Chef had a good game also getting double digits out of Rivers, Bell, CJ1K, Cooks, Hurns, and the Chiefs D. Lefty moves to 4-1 and Chef falls to 3-2.

Milk pucks up Treff 104-77. Milk got 34 out of Eli Manning and double digits from Julio Jones, Yeldon, McManus, and the Falcons D on his way to the easy win over Treff who chose poorly at quarterback although the 21 point difference between Mariota and Dalton still would have only gotten him to 98 points. Both teams are now 3-2

Barbarians Recap

Shady pulls OBX into the shadows 113-111. In the game of the week, Shady finally gets a win edging OBX behind the 29 from Brady, 25 from Freeman, and double digits from Hyde, the Falcons D, and Mcmanus which was enough to hold off OBX even getting 33 from Martin. If only Obx had known that he should have started Bortles over Aaron Rodgers. Shady moves to 2-3 and OBX falls to 1-3-1.

Monkey flings poo at Steelers 98-88. Monkey got 30 out of Dalton, 18 out of Bell, and double digits from Snead, the Rams D, and Josh Brown winning his third straight game. Steelers got 34 out of Eli and 15 out the Cardinals D, but no more than 7 from anybody else. Monkey moves to 3-2 and Steelers falls to 2-2-1.

Face headbutts Stomp 118-80. With the most points in the Barbarians last week, Face got good games from Palmer, Forte, Gore, Beckham, Deandre Hopkins, and Gostkowski. Stomp got double digit games from Crowell, Foster, John Brown, Russell Wilson, and James Jones, but it wasn’t enough. Face moves to 4-1 and Stomp falls to 2-3.

Micro space needles Harold 88-60. Micro got 21 from Bradford, 15 from Gurley, and 14 from the Seahawks D which was enough as Harold got disappointing games from Hill and Cobb. Micro moves to 2-3 and Harold falls to 1-4.

BK hops over Foot 93-71. BK got good games from Brees 19, Forsett 22, and the Packers D 25 for his 3rd straight win handing Foot his 2nd straight loss. Foot falls to 2-3 and BK moves to 3-2.

Cheesehead shrinks Smitty 89-82. Cheesehead stays undefeated behind the 26 out of the Broncos D and the 19 from Alex Smith. Smitty got a disappointing game from Matt Ryan and Gronk and falls to 2-3 with Cheesehead moving to 5-0.

League Notes

The Keepers outscored the Barbarians for the 5th straight week 1124-1091 which extends their overall lead for the season to 5663-5393 or 270 points. The A league left 271 points on their benches and the B league left 265 points on their benches.

Division leaders in the Keepers are Fuzzy at 3-2, Tlance at 4-1, and Lefty at 4-1. Fuzzy took back the points lead and the breakdown lead and took the lead the MBBRL wide breakdown. Bandit is 2nd in points and breakdown but sits at 2-3. The division leaders in the Barbarians league are Face at 4-1, Cheesehead at 5-0, and Steelers at 2-2-1. Shady has a 40 point lead on the next highest point total and an 8 game breakdown lead and he is also 2-3. Apparently he and Bandit have something in common this year with a crappy schedule maker.

There is only one team in the Barbarians league with more than 485 points (Shady with 524), but there are 5 teams in the Keepers league (Fuzzy, Bandit, Lefty, Joe, Tlance) with at least 490.

There are 8 Keepers teams with a winning record in the MBBRL wide breakdown while there are only 4 Barbarians teams. Shady actually has a 16 game lead on the next closest Barbarian in MBBRL wide breakdown. He is really getting screwed by his schedule maker.

Every team in the Aramis division won last week in the Keepers and TKO notched his first win of the season.

The Visogoths division is by far the most powerful as they have the top 3 point scorers in the Barbarians league, 3 of the top 4 breakdown records in the Barbarians, and 3 of the top 4 power rankings. On the other hand, the Huns division has 3 of the bottom 4 in power rankings and their division leader isn’t even above .500 with Steelers at 2-2-1.

Let’s go streaking!! Current winning and losing streaks of at least 3 games: In the Keepers, Lefty has won 4 straight and poor Barilko has lost 5 straight. In he Barbarians, Face has won 4 straight, BK has won 3 straight, Cheesehead has won 5 straight, Monkey has won 3 straight, Harold has lost 4 straight and OBX has lost 3 straight.

Okay we are at week 5, so as much as it pains me to say it, Barilko has a lot of work to do to not be relegated. He’s last in all three power categories and is 66 points behind TKO for 11th and is 8 games behind TKO for 11th in breakdown. He doesn’t necessarily have to start winning, but needs to start scoring higher each week to have any kind of chance. TKO right now is next in line, but his team is showing some improvement.

Race for Relegation

Barilko power ranking 3
TKO power ranking 6.5
Sam power ranking 8.5

In the Barbarians, as stated several times before Shady would have the golden ticket to the A league with the best breakdown record by far. The other team going up would be the Super Bowl champion, especially since the breakdown champ wouldn’t even make the playoffs.

Shady 41-14
Cheesehead 33-20-2
Face 32-20-3

In the race for the purgatory or the motorboating of supermodels or oblivion or whatever the hell we decided to call it, Harold is sitting at a power ranking of 6.5, Micro is at 7, Foot is at 9.5, and OBX is at 12.5.

Next week's matchups:

Keepers of the Flame

Bandit (2-3) v. Treff (3-2)
TKO (1-4) v. Tlance (4-1)
Joe (3-2) v. Chef (3-2)
Lefty (4-1) v. Barilko (0-5)
Fuzzy (3-2) v. Ram (3-2)
Milk (3-2) v. Sam (1-4)

Barbarians at the Gate

Face (4-1) v. OBX (1-3-1)
Micro (2-3) v. Smitty (2-3)
BK (3-2) v. Monkey (3-2)
Harold (1-4) v. Shady (2-3)
Steelers (2-2-1) v. Cheesehead (5-0)
Stomp (2-3) v. Foot (2-3)
