Right now Ammo has no trade value, he's a free agent next year. His greatest trade value peaked this past off season. There was a thread on that very subject. Any GM entertaining the thought of trading for him now should have his head examined.

This is one of those unique situations where you pretty much have to risk losing Morris for nothing. Morris and Jones together is one of the few aspects of our team that actually gives us an advantage on game day. No way in hell we get a 1st for Alf.

You ride this season out with both and reap the benefits of that. You try like hell to re-sign Alf and if he gets a ridiculous offer somewhere else, so be it.

Draft another guy in the 3rd round or so to back up Jones. At least your not shipping out veterans, great locker room guys and one of your most dependable guys because you have a shiny new toy.

Callahan would probably come in turning desk over if we traded Alf in the next few weeks.

I agree Shark but if ATL offers a 1st rounder we have to consider it. RB is the easiest position to replace on a team.

No one is going to give up a first round pick for a runningback, in this day and age. You just said yourself "RB is one of the easiest position to replace" so why give up a valuable asset for one?

Depth has been a glaring need on the team for years now The Skins have it and now fans want to diminish it? It doesn't make sense.

this the get something for nothing crowd . they feel they can get some picks for AM and not have to pay him next season . this after only 2 games and the anointing oil gets broken out

Well that it in all likelihood is the beauty of the current FO. Past regimes kind of acted like fans & may have may moves like this or at least considered them. This discussion may be fun, but a lot of it is not based in reality.

Really... have you talked to Chip Kelly or Jason Garrette recently??

This is my point on systems. The Cowboys do miss Murray but not too much. They have a committee of lower priced RBs running behind a good OL. Our OL is much improved and the system favors Jones...who will be starting by year's end.

If you trade Morris now, you will get more value out of him...like I said...I would definitely take a first...possibly a second. We also have leverage right now b/c ATL can't run but are still 2-0...and our former coach is running a system that he is better suited for.

You missed the part where Jones came with an injury history which is WHY everyone thought we over drafted him. Bottom line is that Jones is not the guy we want running 30+ times per game with no real backup behind him. Sure if the Falcons are desperate they might give up a 2nd for Morris. But why would we basically tank the season in week 2 or 3 for a first rounder next year that by all accounts will be in the 27-32 range?? Just cant see a valid reason unless you think our season is already tanked.

Dad...I didn't miss his injury history. I just don't care about it because none of it is lasting.

IF they offer a first rounder for him...that is more value to the franchise than him leaving this offseason. It is a hypothetical based on the fact it is a position I do not value. I do not value it because every year there is a new "nobody" becoming a star at the position.

And I dont value what if's over proven players. We need to resign Alf. And Im sorry, but even a first rounder is not worth us basically telling the rest of the team, we dont think our leading rusher the past three seasons is more valuable than a draft pick that could turn into Peyton Manning, but could also turn into Ryan Leaf.

I am a firm believer in system RBs. Alfred was tremendous with the Shanahans and still has some high value in a trade. Would anybody be willing to trade Alfred to Atlanta? What would you want in return?
Morris is still a very young RB and it would be a mistake to trade him but if you trade him to the Cowboys for a 3rd round pick I'd be in favor of that.

Sounds good..........if there were fantasy football. Morris' biggest value is to the Redskins doing what he's done for the last 3 seasons.

So...after his usage tonight...change your mind because he looks like a total backup now.

Is trading him for a player an option? I know, it never happens. It won't look like we are giving up on the season that way.

Any RB looks like a backup when your special teams gives up a safety and you abandon the ground game.

When we abandon the run game we lose , every time.
