9:48am: Momentum is building towards a Cole Hamels trade, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sportstweets. Offers for the Phillies ace have improved since Hamels’ no-hitter and teams are now asking for less money and offering better players, sources tell Rosenthal.

Is it just me who finds this quote hard to believe?

He's pitched 10 years of ML ball, thrown approximately 2,000 innings and yet the nine wonder innings he pitched yesterday changes the trade landscape?

If it is true, then one must assume had he gone out and gotten lite up the price would have gone down, and more money needed?

This is nothing but click bait. I highly doubt the random occurance of a no hitter changed people's price. Did Dallas Braden's perfect game drive his value up? No. Rosenthal is annoying to say the least.

Well I finally got the project Ive been wanting to get done for a couple years, finished. I got a tv put in out on my patio where I can watch baseball from the swimming pool. Now I have to figure out a way to build a floating iPad so I can post on the hoop, while Im drinking cold beer and watching the Rangers on Sundays.

Odor's BA is up to .276 now, that is pretty amazing. Must be batting close to .400 since his call back up

Report: Rangers leaders to land Phillies' Cole Hamels

The Rangers had two scouts in Chicago on Saturday to watch Phillies pitcher Cole Hamelsthrow a no-hitter in his last start before the non-waivers trade deadline.

The Yankees and Red Sox each had scouts present as well, but Comcast Philadelphia is reporting that the Rangers are the favorites to complete a trade for Hamels.

Phillies pitching coach Bob McClure said that Hamels' next start is scheduled for Thursday, the day before the deadline, per the News Journal.

More fodder for thought

Rangers 2B Rougned Odor in the midst of hot streak at the plate

Rangers second baseman Rougned Odormaintained his red-hot pace at the plate in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Angels. Odor went 2 for 4 with a double and a solo home run in the victory.

Odor got the scoring started on Saturday, as he launched his solo shot with one out in the first inning of Hector Santiago. It was Odor's seventh homer of the season and the third in his past seven games.

Over his last nine contests, Odor is batting .385 with three doubles, three triples and three homers, to go along with eight RBI.

.385 last nine, is pretty tough

Rangers may give Wandy Rodriguez another start this week

Rangers pitcher Wandy Rodriguez was moved to the bullpen this week, but he may be making a return to the starting rotation.

Rodriguez is likely to start either Wednesday or Thursday, against the Yankees, per the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

The decision hasn't been finalized yet. The team is waiting to see if Rodriguez is needed in long relief in Sunday's game.

This shouldn't surprise anyone, until Derek is back, Im not sure why the move to the pen was made anyway.

Royals Acquire Johnny Cueto From Reds

The Reds announced that Johnny Cueto has been traded to the Royals for left-handed pitchers Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb, and Cody Reed. The Reds are also sending cash considerations to KC, according to the Royals’ press release.

Cueto, 29, is months from his first shot at free agency, and the fourth-place Reds were been rumored to be shopping him for a while now. Along with the Royals, the Dodgers and Blue Jays were among teams that have been connected to Cueto. However, KC has come out on top.

Reds got a pretty nice return for a rental

Desperation for a lh reliever while trying to get him some rest?

We don't have any players that have ever faced the LH'r Heaney, I don't believe. He could provide fits for our hitters early. Hope they figure him out, have a good approach and see some pitches. Would be nice to take the sweep and a hell of a way to end this road trip.

Well I should have gotten this done awhile ago, if all my wife's other projects hadn't gotten in my way.

Thanks :martini:
