I could take a dump on the mound and Mike Maddux could get a quality start out of it. The dude is a fantastic coach.

We need to never let him go.

Bennie....what did you think he was gonna say? Even with all candor, what could he say, other than what he did say?

He knows what you know, and that is, for the immediate future, we're screwed. And any and all options are on the table, although we can't admit to it today.
Oh, I know. He can't afford to admit as much and he can't afford to give up hope. It is easy for me because I am not in his position.

I read that the Giants want to upgrade at third base. I wonder if they will call JD?

We sure haven't heard much about when they expect Rua to return.

He's still in a boot -- late May/early June is what I heard last. Think it was said during one of the games or Evan Grant's chat session last week

I hope not.

I hear ya. I emphasis with where you're coming from. Love Mr B myself.

But what's the downside of us trading him?

Actually, I hope we do. And here's why, I'd like to see Beltre retire and have the satisfaction of knowing he'd won a WS ring. No one can make that promise; understood. But I personally hope he gets a chance to at least try to win one.

And we all know we probably aren't why he's still relevant, don't we? Honestly hated saying that.

This view from the cat-bird seat is terrific isn't it? :pound:

Hell, now that I think of it, it's kind-of like being a weatherman. I'm not responsible for anything, and who was to know/predict this could even happen?

My dream is winning a WS in 2017 with him as our DH.

Ever see a maggot on a gut wagon? Imagine the A's being the team getting in the WS calling JD. Not likely but not impossible. Now moving on. Looks like rain.

I wouldnt mind trading him -- but I'd prefer to trade him to a team that has a better assortment of prospects.

Has anyone heard any medical report on Leo Martin?

We could trade him and still do that.

Yes, but once you trade a player away they just don't generally come back around very often. John Lester said he'd come back and sign with the Red Sox if a trade occurred. Guess what, he's pitching for the cubs.

Rua gets screwed missing out on PT in favor of some spare LHP who couldn't hack it with someone else's 40man.

Wtf are you talking about? Rua isn't going to be coming back to the team any later because of this claim.
