What are your top 10 concerts?

I took my wife, daughter and daughter in law to see Fleetwood Mac last week. I was preparing for a let down considering the last time I saw them was in 77 for the Rumors tour but was pleasantly surprised on the overall quality of their performance. Hard to believe that they are all in the late 60's - early 70's and still being able to rock like that.

Anyway, it got me to thinking. I have been very blessed to see many of the "super groups" in their prime during my lifetime and was wondering what are your favorite concerts of all time

My list in no particular order

Pink Floyd (77 tour)
Yes 25th Anniversary Tour
David Bowie 87 tour - he played the top 25 songs requested by the fans to his website
The Rolling Stones in 75 at Chicago Stadium
Billy Joel/Elton John "Piano Men" tour
Bob Seger 2006 tour
Led Zeppelin 1973 tour
Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Robert Cray (SRV last concert)
The Doobie Brothers 73 at Summerfest
Genesis 78 at Summerfest

Thanks.....I was born about ten years too late as I wasn't old enough to head up to San Francisco to catch the music coming out of the Bay Area. I remember trying to tell my parents when I was in 7th grade (late 60s) that I could take my paper route money and buy a round trip ticket to San Francisco and just be gone for the weekend. I think my dad walked me to the garage, gave me a rake and told me to rake the leaves until I came to my senses.

For sure. But of the concerts I've seen, the music....the talent of everyone on stage....Queen and Rush were a cut above them in concert. Funny cause I don't listen to a lot of Queens music and only have a couple of their albums, but man could they put on a show.

yeah...I was checking out the dates of your concerts and you got out there a few years before me. I'm disappointed that I was never near a zeppelin, yes or pink floyd tour....when I had money. Those 3 were great bands and you saw them at a great time in their careers.

Rolling Stones - 1989 in Minneapolis.

Judas Priest - Twice - 1986 in Minneapolis 2012 in San Antonio

Iron Maiden/Ratt/Accept - 1985 at Trout Air in Minnesota

Foghat/REO Speedwagon/Blue Oyster Cult/38 Special/Georgia Satellites - 1994 I think at the Apple River Fairgrounds in Wisconsin

ZZ Top - Minneapolis in 1985 I think

A Flock of Seagulls/The Fixx - My first concert back in 1983 I think at some hall at the University of Minnesota.

Ronnie James Dio/Twisted Sister - 1984 at Navy Island in St Paul Minnesota. I went with three friends two of which have passed away. Seen Dio a couple other times but this one was best.

Journey/Eddie Money - Always was a big fan of Journey this was in 1986 I believe.

KISS - Seen them a few times, first time I seen them was in 1984, Queensryche opened for them.

AC/DC & Yngwie Malmsteen - Amazing concert, Yngwie was better that night.

I got a bunch more and I seen Cheech & Chong a couple years ago here at the Majestic Theatre, was in front row for that...

Although not the same, check out the group Brit Floyd if they ever come to your part of town. Not quite the same effect but when you close your eyes and listen to the music, you'd swear they were the original

Wallace....Carlos Santana has to be one of my fav guitarist. I see you went twice. I take it they put on a good show?

I liked Santana's solo stuff he did with various lead vocalist in the late 90's. As old as he was, he was still cranking out great sounds from the studio.

I saw Santana back in '78 and Eddie Money opened for him. Money came out and was drunk off his ass. He came running out onto the stage, tripped and fell down and broke his sunglasses. I couldn't wait for Santana to hit the stage so I could experience true musicianship. What he did with the guitar was amazing.

Aerosmith was awesome; saw them in Tacoma about 8 or 9 years ago. Lenny Kravitz opened up and was OK, but Aerosmith kicked ass!! They played mostly the older songs...
