lol injury excuses now? Pretty sure the Broncos were much more beat up in the SB last year and I don't remember hearing one person use that as an excuse.

I read somewhere where Edelman was really giving it to Sherman all game. I guess it was on Turning point or something like that. I have yet to watch them.

Again, there is only 1 fan here that could be taken as using that as an excuse.

But since you mentioned it, I do recall hearing about all the injured Bronco players many times last year. I'm sure I could pull up the game thread and find some examples if you like.

I don't really think Hawk Fans are using the injury card as an excuse. At least not from what I have seen. The Pats made the plays in the 4th quarter and the Hawks didn't. That's really all there is to it. Yea I wish they were healthier but that's football.

Very few fans are boarding the excuse train.

If Kam was too injured to play effectively, then he should have pulled himself out of the game. He played. Seahawks lost. Patriots are your SB49 Champions. Both teams played great, and the Patriots made an excellent play when it counted the most.

No excuses.

Unfortunately if any one person says anything that even remotely sounds like it could maybe be an excuses we'll have a bunch of people getting their panties in a bunch about it.

"LOL Seahagz fans are using excuses, what a bunch of classless arrogant bitches" *masturbates furiously*

I guess that miraculous catch that set up the possible Lynch touchdown wasn't luck. They should've never been in position to score to begin with.

Or they could have scored on another play, you can't look at it like that.

Love hearing stories like this. True warrior. Didn't Rivers play a playoff game with a torn ACL? Witten playing with a ruptured spleen. Anyone that uses this as an excuse and tries to say they win if he wasn't hurt or "and it was still close" is just being a whiny, sore loser...but at the same time let's give the guy credit for playing through this and not looking for credit or sympathy or excuses himself. It's really just the kind of guy he is and I'll take him on my team anytime.

I just see Patriot haters playing the injury card. Not Seattle fans. By the end of the season very few players are injury free. Its over. It is what it is. Patriots played a great game and stepped up in the final minute.

Kam is a beast, but lets not forget Rodgers playing with an injured calf in the playoffs. We might all be amazed if we knew all the injuries these players play thru.

Btw LOB looked just fine in the first 45 minutes. Let's cut the crap out

lol, because Seattle was in the lead it means the reports that Thomas, Kam, and Sherman are all lying about their need for surgery over injuries that happened before that game started? :L

You are something else man.

They all had injuries and played through them. They weren't 100%, but Sherman still wasn't a factor in the game since they didn't throw at him so his wasn't an impact on the game, and both safeties played as well as they could, but maybe 80%? When they lost Lane in the first quarter the handwriting was on the wall. Losing Avril in the first of the two drives NE scored on was really the death nail. Few defenses are going to lose as many as they did to IR, playing through injuries, and then in game injuries and still stop a team as solid on offense as NE.

Championship teams take full advantage of everything they can and NE did just that. They have a legit QB that took everything Seattle gave them and made the most of it.

Still, if Seattle had been at full strength I have no doubt they win that game. Seattle is more talented, but was out coached. The injuries were simply too much. You normally give Seattle a 10 point lead going into the 4th and it's over. That despite all of those injuries they were still one play away from at least a chance at winning says a lot to me about their relative talent vs the pats, at least on that day. Shocked they didn't take more advantage of that defense.

There are 3 degrees of tears in the MCL and I don't think that info has come out on how bad his was. Clearly he wasn't 100% and any issues on knees for a safety is bad, but we don't know how bad it was.

And lol at the rest of that. I mean we heard all off season about how Seattle didn't play the real Denver because of their injuries they had piled up on their defense and that was true. No one knows what that final score would have been with a healthy Denver, but injuries are part of the game.

It's not taking anything away from what NE did. They were healthier and took full advantage of their players and what the weaknesses were on the opposition (which does include injuries) and came out on top. That's football.

This^^^^^^^^^ lots of guys have played while injured

Rodney Harrison -- A street fighter in the secondary who enjoyed tremendous success toward the end of his NFL career. And he made a tackle during Super Bowl XXXVIII with a broken arm.

Patriots running back Shane Vereen played with a broken left wrist in the 2013 season opener against Buffalo. On a pain scale between 1 to 10, Vereen said his was about 27. He remembered what his mom used to tell him when he was a kid, that football is a game that you play hurt but you never play injured. Fear kept him in the game more than anything.

McNabb, injured on the third play of the game, tied a career high with four touchdown passes, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 38-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday:suds:

Wow, short memory. Saw a lot of the excuses on that defense. Just after getting gang raped they rang pretty hollow. A closer game and those voices would have been a lot louder.

And they are always valid. Injuries are a part of the NFL and the outcome of games. Can't have the depth with the salary cap that leads to the next man up stuff. Always have rookies or hasbeens behind some of your guys and it's a crap shoot.

Still, not an excuse. Great teams win games by taking what's in front of them and doing what they can with it. It's always part of the story in every game/season. Doesn't make it an excuse.

Truth be told every team can play the injury game. If Sean Lee was healthy maybe Dallas would have had HFA and won the SB. Or if Rodgers was healthy GB likely for sure does. What's the sense? It's just whining and excuse making no matter you try to hide it...should have just said "injuries are part of the game" and nothing else. And If we are dealing in hypotheticals...What if Mo Claiborne didn't suck or Jerry wasn't an idiot!!! SB here we come!!!
