I think both teams did well. I agree that the Jets did very well in this deal. I'm still convinced that Tyler Myers needed a change in scenery and will pick his game up as a result.

Meh I wouldn't take stock into a site like that

We'll wait and see what the real people are saying

Of all the Flyers fan on here, I knew you would be the first to respond:) I don't think there is anything to this, but it is interesting that the Kings are linked to Coburn. I always felt that only Edmonton valued him very much. For a 2nd rounder I'd make this deal if there is any truth to it.

I thought the Kings were in such cap hell that they sent Richards to the AHL to get the $900k relief. No way they can take his contract for a pick.

Good point. It's still interesting to see that teams may possibly overpay for dmen at the trade deadline. Not saying this article has anything to do with what I'm saying. I think teams will be willing to overpay for dmen to make a run for the SC. I don't see Coburn as a rental, but I could be wrong.

If he keeps getting benched nobody will take him.

Some contender will still overpay for him. Dmen usually bring a decent return in today's game. Hexy won't sell him cheap.

the problem the flyers will face is they don't have very many pure rentals to sell. the contracts are too long. Schultz and Del Zotto would be the only true rentals on the blueline, everyone else has a contract that's longer than this year. Del Zotto is even RFA after this year, so I would think that would up his value a bit. Rental if you want him to be, or you can spin him off in the offseason for an asset if you don't want him.

Coburn, Schenn, and Grossmann are signed through next year. MacDonald is signed for eternity. That will hurt their trade values this season.

I hope your right but if I was a contender and saw Coburn play this season I would look somewhere else.

I still think Coburn would be an improvement over the majority of teams 5-6 (3rd pairing) guys. Problem is that his cap hit puts him as a 2,3,4 (borderline 1st, 2nd pairing guy). As awaz points out he is also signed for next year. not many teams have the cap space to take Coburn without sending a player back. I think the Sharks have a little over $5 million left. The Predators had the space but already made their moves. Coburn, Grossmann and Schenn will be tough to move for picks because of the cap. A Mac will not be moved for this reason. To move one of those 3 for a pick and an expiring contract would work as it opens space for next year. Not sure what's out there.

Coburn will still claim a big return. Extremely mobile, decent first pass, physical when he's angry. He's a good playoff addition. The question is, will the Flyers get the value for Coburn that they want, or will they hold on to him to anchor the blueline until help arrives.

The only thing Coburn is lacking is offense. He doesn't have a great shot and he's not a dynamic offensive threat when he has the puck.

These are valid points however none of his play this entire season warrants somebody giving us a big return.

I agree with the articles assessment. If you can pull out a 1st round pick for him, or multiple seconds, or a second and a bonafide prospect, sure I'd move him. But you don't move him to move him. He's a good, versatile, top 9 forward. He can definitely be part of the future.

Sami Vatanen got hurt and might be out long term for the Ducks - maybe Braydon Coburn doesn't replace his offense but they'd probably be very interested - I'd see what I could do with him there
