I dont think he should be considered a bust. he has put up some real impressive number throughout his career. how many times did dan mariano win?

I think everybody knows that a game isn't won or lost on that one play. There were 70 other plays in that game as we'll. What if the defense had gotten that stop on 3rd and 3? What if Welker made the catch? (To soon?). See what I mean...
We can take the discussion to other threads.
But they had them, Syria got them and now ISIS has them
Which is why you can't judge stats (regular or post season) when talking about if a QB is great or not (though they are part of the picture)
A pick six shouldn't tarnish an overall stellar performance. But those stats do not always tell the story.
He could throw for 300 yards 2 tds and 1 int
By the stats that is a really good day.
But what happens when that 1 int is a pick 6 that loses the game?
Peyton Manning has more TDs than Joe Montana. And Steve Young. Put together.
"Irrelevant!!!"
Brady throws for 5 TDs.
"GOAT!!!"
Peyton manning has done more with less talent than Brady has. I'd take Manning over Brady.Peyton Manning has more TDs than Joe Montana. And Steve Young. Put together.

Montana's career stats pale in comparison to Manning even if he did get 4 SB rings.however, this is more of a passing league then compared to Montana's and Youngs era. With that said, it shouldn't take away anything from Peyton.
Yet weren't you the one like 10 or so posts ago that was pointing towards stats like Super Bowl win percentage, playoff win percentage, regular season win percentage, and others to try and judge how good a quarterback is? You realize those are stats right? Also winning has a lot more to do with the actual team around a player than anything else. I mean Brady has been HOF worthy but his Super Bowls came on great teams around him. His winning percentage is greatly helped especially for playoff percentage by that 10-0 start. Since then though his percentage has been very average at best. So again you say don't judge on stats but then tell us to judge on stats. You just want people to judge on your criteria of what is good stats compared to another individual.

Ask any player. 4 Super Bowl wins or a handful of career number records. Better yet, ask Dan Marino...
Clearly what he's saying is that Brady was a better quarterback in 2001 than he has been from 2005 to the present.
Exactly. Too bad only one could play with the greatest receiver of all time.
Ahhh so we should only focus on a 4-year period of the NFL then. I get what is going on here.
Well, let's be honest. Football is more of a team sport than any other. These guys didn't win or lose all by themselves, no matter how good they were.
The Brady that went 10-0 and was winning super bowls as a game manager, wasn't even close to as good the Brady that has gone 8-8 since, carrying pretty bad teams and winning zero super bowls.
