Glad this game is on national TV, since I've been reduced to watching highlights and replays the past two weeks.

Seems to me that both teams have played pretty well the past few weeks. Kind of interesting that both teams started slowly on the road last week before holding on to win their games with game clinching pick-sixes and 14 point margins of victory.

We are without 59, unfortunately, but we are quite a bit healthier than SF. Hopefully we take advantage of that and the home field crowd to win three in a row.

Should be a good game against a team that we could possibly face again at season's end.

Maybe I'm alone, but something about the 49ers doesn't impress me this season. Even though they were the only team to beat both Dallas and Philadelphia, I just don't think they're as good as they have been the past few years. I think the game is close for awhile, but the Broncos are able to get a lead and keep it and the 49ers never really threaten. Broncos win 31-20.

SF looked pretty underwhelming for most of the first half at St. Louis the other night, before finishing the game in what I thought was pretty impressive fashion against a Rams team that is clearly struggling (kind of like the Jets).

SF is without Bowman, Willis, and A. Smith on their defense, so it's not surprising that they might not play to their full potential. I still think that they are a SB contender and a dangerous team, though I agree that the Broncos should beat them.

I have been a hypocrite and tough on the Broncos this year. A hypocrtite because I have told other posters in the past, Goosfraba, enjoy, a win is a win in the NFL. I do have a tendency to look at the game through a coaches eye rather than a fans eye. I'm not a negative guy but I do believe the Broncos have underperformed, smoke and mirrors, got good fortune ETC and it can catch up with them. I believe on D the Broncos have 6 - 7 potential Pro Bowl-ers and 4 potential All Pro's. If Roby keeps playing and growing like he has, he'll be a legit candidate for ROY. I know the other guys get paid too (another one of my arguments) but I don't expect to see a second then a 3rd string QB come into our house and keep the game close especially when we have the better team. The stats look pretty good but I don't think they tell the whole story. Again the Cards had 13 unforced errors in the passing game if half of those ball are caught, who knows. To an extent we have got lucky IMO. My negativity / frustration comes from, if we play like this against a better QB ETC, we could be in trouble. Putting it bluntly my goal isn't to squeek by the 5 cr@p Jets and a second string QB at home but rather be the best team in the league and win the SB.

So to the point, it changes this week and the Broncos start playing to their capability's against a good team. As we all know we have had a hard time in the past with running QB's. The 49's are capable on offense but I think we will shut them down enough. IMO the Broncos have a better team top to bottom with the exception of O-Line (3 of 5 anyway) and MLB (Willis probably won't be playing). I think the D starts to get it together as a unit and the O keeps rolling. Big momentum game going into the SD showdown. Denver 31 SF 17.

Broncos 27, 49ers 10. I can't wait to see the look on that THUG coach's face when we crush his team.

On a side note, I'm so glad I was wrong about Peyton's neck breaking down. I admit when I'm wrong like a man. I'm so glad Peyton is the BEST QB in the NFL. Amazing what he's doing at his age after such a serious neck surgery. You can make a strong case he's the best PLAYER in the NFL right now.

Take it easy, Broncoes shld win the game. 9ers don't have 3 of arguably the top 10 defensive players in this game. Willis Aldon and bowman. So ya u shld win. Cuz if they play it's a different story.

I agree 100%. Lets not fool ourselves in thinking the Broncos are playing great football right now. The passing game looks a little off yet and the o line is having some pass blocking issues. The running game has improved though the last 6 quarters with Thompson and Hillman carrying the load. The defense has left wr's open and there have been a few blown coverages which for the most part they have gotten away with. The Broncos Jets game should not come down to the Jets having a chance of tieing the game period. Yes a win is a win but play like this against SD or even this weekend it wont be pretty. Another running QB to this weekend which Denver has issues with. I got Denver 24 -20 over the 49ers.

I can't wait for this game. This should be a good test for the Broncos, though as Madskillz pointed out, the 49er defense will be without 3 great players. I wish those players were going to be in there, and of course Trev as well. Then we would really see how these 2 teams stack up against one another. As it is, I think the Broncos win by 7-10, with the game not really being decided until some time in the 4th quarter.

Kaepernick is starting to step his passing game up, and as a runner, IMO he is the most dangerous in the NFL among QBs, maybe along with Russell. He can fly, and it seems like he always has a huge open area along the sideline where he rips off a 20-yarder. This would be a great game to have Trev in there to track him down before he breaks contain. It will be interesting to see how Von Miller is used, as a pass-rusher, or more of a spy. The LBs will play a key role in this game, as they will have to make sure Kaep doesn't beat us with his legs.

Anyone know what happened to that RB they drafted a couple of seasons ago who had the huge potential but had a torn up knee (his second maybe)? I can't think of his name, but a few of us Bronco fans were interested in seeing him in an orange uni. Was it Marcus Lattimore?

On offense, once again we need to step up the run game. As long as they make progress over the course of the season it will be all good though. The passing game, as it has been so far, should be enough to hold off the 49ers if they don't possess the ball for the lion's share of the clock.

Primetime Sunday night. Gotta love that.

I think it is Latimore that you are thinking of. He's expected out until mid November.

I thought that Kaepernick looked really good on MNF and I definitely agree that his running presents a tough challenge to our defense.

I think it will be a close game. They usually are with SF. We just might see Sun nite how our kicker fares under pressure gents. 24-21 Denver OT

This is the exact game where we could potentially miss Trevathan. He can run and protect the edge even if he's in coverage with his speed he can come up and keep CK to 8 yards on a 3rd and 10.

Hopefully they learned lesson vs Wilson and they designate a safety or db to shadow Kap,especially on 2nd/3rd and long situations. Let the corners for Denver go man to man. I think they have the talent to go head to head with SF wrs for the most part. Id also put Roby on Boldin. Physicality wise I think he matches up better.

Kind of enjoyed this piece, which discusses Brandon Lloyd's return to Denver:

The return of Brandon Lloyd

Fun to recall his 2010 season, when he was among the most exciting players in the league. He also made a huge play for SF against St. Louis the other night. Hope we shut him and the rest of the 49er offense down, but that might not be easy. They have some weapons.

Brandon Lloyd is still capable of making big plays. With him Johnson, Crabtree, Bolden and Davis at TE the Broncos will have there hands full. Good test for them against another NFC West team.

I'm excited and nervous as I will get out about this one. On paper with the 49ers banged up the Broncos should win this one with it being at home. At the same time this is a very well coached team (I think the media is blowing the whole Harbaugh situation out of proportion) that I think has had the most draft picks over the last few years so they have had a chance to build up some great depth. I'm glad, for the sake of possibly getting the win since we should have a tight race for the AFC West crown, that we are catching them at this time as I do think over the final 6-8 games of the season the 49ers will be a top-3 team in the league if not the best. I can easily see us playing them again in the Super Bowl. Still always nice to see 2 powerhouses go at it at full strength and see what happens. Maybe we will see that in the Super Bowl.

Also any 49er fans out there how the heck to Parrish Cox become a good corner in this league? He was ok when he played for the Broncos but I definitely did not blame them when he was cut and honestly the guy should be in jail right now...Now that is not saying much since quite a few players in the NFL should be in jail right now for things they have done but hey money can't buy you happiness but it can help get you a nice get out of jail free card.
