I don't know who saw Griffin's post game presser but I was impressed. I did not hear the "we" of last year but instead hear "I." I was impressed. It is part of the maturity process I have been waiting to see.

Griffin did some good things. I expected a game plan with three step drops and quick passes to negate JJ Watt. The man is a beast and can make most lineman look bad. Griffin executed well completing all but two passes. Gruden said that is what the D gave them. In the 2nd half they completed a few nice seam routes. Yeah the kid is still learning but I saw some bright spots from him.

No doubt we don't have the best line but Robert can help them, that is part of his learning process. j_y correctly pointed out in another thread that Robert moved right into the sack that Watt was credited with. He'll learn from this. It is not all doom and gloom. STs and TOs were our downfall.

I also noted that in the presser. Good to see. He took the blame as all QBs should. Robert played well today overall. Wasn't by any means mistake free, but he made quicker decisions and got into a good grove in the second half. Definitely a performance that he can grow from.

I agree Sportster. Griffin looked humbled, yet determined with the new process. How about that staying in the pocket today? He certainly showed he can be a pocket passer in this league.

I also love the fact that the TEAM didn't vote RG3 as a Captain. I really believe this will be Robert's "humble pie" moment in Washington...It should only help mature the future Captain of this franchise going forward.

STs did lose this game, but it wasn't the same as least year. Roberts looks very good returning kicks. One cut and he's gone. The blocked punt was one guy, helu, who missed his block. I thought our coverage otherwise was ok. We tackled much better. I think the errors we saw on STs today can be addressed. Last year was just a complete systemic failure of the system.

i agree they improved. roberts looks dangerous out there. coverage isnt quite there yet. hopefully kai is solid this year. i just cant believe they gave up a td. plus those fumbles. we are cursed.

Agree the punt block was a mistake by Helu. Houston didn't have a punt block on, the guy took advantage of Helu's mistake. You have to be so impressed with Watt, he takes no plays off which was evidenced by the extra point block. The rest of the STs looked good.

TOs are often killers, they cost anywhere from 6-14 points add the 8 points lost on STs and that is a lot of points.

At least he learnt how to slide. That was a good one even if I think he could have thrown the ball to Desean Jackson who was close from the sideline.

I know, right? The slide, Keenan Robinson and the punter were the highlights. I too thought Griffin executed the game plan really well. He was very accurate all day. He still needs work on feeling the pressure, the real question is if that can be learned or is it something you either have or you don't have.

Actually, there were others that played well. Both Morris and Helu ran well. Amerson played well as did Ryan Clark. Niles had a very good game up until the fumble. Perry Riley played pretty well.

There were positives to take from this game.........
