Okay, so the NFL's Tuesday terror of being associated with bullying violence turned into Thursday's terror of overreacting. Today's Friday, so it's probably total paralysis.

Ol' Rusty will just put together a hasty press conference where AP says he was just giving his son Vitamin B injections.

And didn't have a needle handy so he used a switch off of the ole weeping willow tree.............he will interview AP and AP will tell him "Yeah, I hit him with the switch about 100 times", then RG will have a presser stating AP said he only hit him once. Then the video will come out and AP will be suspended, then cut, then made a German Spectacle of on Thursday Night Football.................sounds about right so far this year!

And here we go...

Nick Wright of 610-AM in Houston reports that Peterson told police he gave his son a “whooping” in a May incident in Spring, Texas. According to the report, Peterson said he did it to punish the child for pushing another one of Peterson’s children while they were playing a video game. The report says Peterson grabbed a tree branch, removed the leaves and struck the 4-year-old repeatedly.

The child’s injuries reportedly included cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. According to the report, Peterson texted the boy’s mother and acknowledged what he had done and that she would be “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.”

Peterson also allegedly texted the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I [sic] thigh. . . . Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”

Oh, man.

"I'm all tearing that butt up when needed!"

"Got him in nuts once I noticed."

Four years old - that ain't right. At first I saw it was an 11-year-old, which is a very different story.

So, yeah... holy crap I would not want to be Goodell these days.

Took a look at the Texas law. AP and his lawyer have already essentially admitted to recklessly causing bodily injury to a child.

In the statute "recklessly" is better than "intentionally" and "bodily injury" is the least serious of the three consequences listed. That would make AP guilty of a "state jail felony" which is a kind of felony lite.

Hard to see how he won't be suspended for six games.

I agree. I've been reading every article I can find on this and I don't see how this isn't big trouble. That said, I am hoping this is all just a big misunderstanding, and either the doctor's report is wrong or this is a different Adrian Peterson.

In that regard, I believe I am being a bit delusional.

Well, we all know how this will happen if he chooses to fight this battle. He'll turn himself in, be arrested, booked. . Bailed out, possibly all the the same day. And then he'll file for a continuance in order to "gather evidence for a proper defense", which will put even the very beginning of a trail February at the earliest. . Just in time to miss the football season. Six games coming in 2015

I saw somebody endorsing Holmes on this board earlier this week..................could be a good call.

(RotoWire)As Sunday night's game against the 49ers approaches, ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests that there are major questions with regard to the status of both Marshall (ankle) and Alshon Jeffery (hamstring).
Analysis: Presumably, with that in mind, the Bears promoted fellow wideouts Josh Bellamy and Chris Williams from their practice squad, with Santonio Holmes next in line for snaps should one, or both of the Bears' top wideouts not suit up Sunday night. Both Marshall and Jeffery thus appear to loom as game-time decisions, a notion supported by Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, a tricky scenario for fantasy owners, given the team's late kickoff Sunday.

I'm going safe and sitting him on the 2 teams I have him on

(Rotoworld)Tom Krasniqi of 620 WDAE in Tampa Bay passes along a "feeling" that Doug Martin (questionable, knee is "unlikely" to play Sunday at St. Louis.
Analysis: It should be noted that this doesn't appear to be a firm report, and more along the lines of speculation. Krasniqi "expect(s) to see a lot of Bobby Rainey" ... "regardless" of Martin's availability versus St. Louis.

Praying

The early indication is that Charles' ankle sprain is mild, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports.
Spin: However, nothing should be assumed, as Charles is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, after exiting Sunday's game in the first quarter and failing to return. If Charles isn't ready for next week, Knile Davis will get the start, and likely the vast majority of the touches, in Miami.

Lol.....................

(RotoWire) The Dolphins have re-signed Thomas, Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Analysis: With Knowshon Moreno out with a dislocated elbow, and Lamar Miller dealing with an ankle issue, Thomas will add needed depth and experience to the Dolphins' backfield, which also includes Damien Williams and Orleans Darkwa. How much action Thomas might see out of the gate figures to hinge on Miller's status, but in terms of knowledge of the Dolphins' offense, Thomas is essentially a plug and play option.
