We don't even have a legit pinch hitter for Rosales
Haha, we trash him and he singles....ok who's up now that we can trash! Chirinos....nope, can't trash him.We don't even have a legit pinch hitter for Rosales
We may be drafting #1!I sure hope there is some Kershaw like major league ready stud we can draft next year cause we WILL be drafting high
I really don't see any team playing worse. We may be drafting #1!
I was thinking about Kinslers comment about how he hopes we go 0-162... Hell, losing 90 games is the realistic equivalent to his crack that we totally fail...and it's coming true...this team can realistically lose 90 games this year...I really don't see any team playing worse.
And his team will be playing the A's for the World Series. Ties it all up into a nice little bow.I was thinking about Kinslers comment about how he hopes we go 0-162... Boy, will that rub salt into JD's wounds.
I'm out tonight.
Given the stature of the prospects the a's gave up, it sounds like the Rangers equivalent of trading a Profar and Odor plus a pitcher with better credentials than a Tepesch, for the two Cubs pitchers. This would have been too rich for me...
You can add that our bullpen has gotten old as well. Some may argue they are nearly totally ineffective because of overwork and injuries. Yes, injuries to Ogando and Scheppers have hurt. I think it may be a bit of all of this...but no doubt Cotts and Frasor, who are healthy, are not as effective this year, and Soria is being mis-managed.The injuries were one thing, now it looks like there are just as many questions next year. Which is why I wanted to put my head through the wall when announcers and baseball writers were talking about DL days.
WHAT? It's always been far more serious than that crap. We lost one of our most solid starters forever. (who wasn't expensive) We traded Kinsler for a guy that ruptured a cervical vertebra. (who was pretty expensive with a lot of years on that contract and we don't know if he can completely return to form) We lost (probably as far as form goes) for TWO seasons, a promising lefty. (who wasn't expensive) We lost the top prospect for an entire season, so on top of being a rookie (as far as I'm concerned) he has to come in and produce after missing an entire season. Next year Beltre is a year older, the OF is STILL a huge question mark. Choo should be okay, I have no idea about Martin. No faith in Choice (though I acknowledge that's unfair) but he looks utterly lost against Major L pitching. Profar did not look utterly lost, he had moments, but overall he looked promising. So the fear now is we've lost two seasons with Yu, and Choo, Fielder get two years older before we can compete. The Astros should be better next year, Mariners maybe. My glass isn't half empty, it has a few drops in it.
JD has his work cut out for him. Just getting healthy won't be enough and I just don't want to hear it. I'm beginning to doubt ol golden boy Jon. Actually I've already started doubting him. He just better pave this team's way for being a wild card. I don't see him matching Oakland anytime soon. Sorry. The injuries were one thing, now it looks like there are just as many questions next year. Which is why I wanted to put my head through the wall when announcers and baseball writers were talking about DL days.

But everything that asshole touches seems to turn to gold...pray it bites Beane right in the ARSE.

Oh, I lay a little of this blame on JD. Going into this season basically relying on Harrison and Lewis on your rotation. This team could go very far on a good rotation and we didn't have one from the get go.Certainly has for the past few years, knowing that freaking guy, it won't even matter what he gave up...he'll find two others.
Once again this trade has me reeling, he actually probably did need those guys to go deep...as soon as it flashed on the MLB channel, I thought. Oh...'frick.'
I don't think Detroit can get them unless Dumbroski goes full bore on that pen. (Which is 14th out of 15 in the AL.) Toronto? I don't see it.
So they get a pennant, which people are understandably predicting. Then it goes to the NL. I don't think the Giants can win it, maybe though. Pirates? don't know enough about them, except that McCutchen is an absolute beast, and there's a showdown in that division.
Cards, don't think they have it this year.
Then to the Dodgers, there's another possibility. I've never rooted for that team in my life, but I will be their biggest fan, if it comes down to that.
And why are we here? The worst luck imaginable except that we haven't lost Yu or Beltre. There's no one to blame. Why did this happen to us....is all I have.
Listen up cruel baseball gods...you owe us a miracle.
Give JD a little luck, plus his talent, and maybe we get back to competing next year. I would never wish injuries on the A's, but I can always hope they end up blowing it and start underperforming when it counts the most.
