This team is between a rock and a hard place. Not much they can get rid of and not much help on the way.

Wasn't Detroit saying they were looking to trade Porcello this offseason and didn't he have a bad ST and a few real bad starts early in the season? Well he's won 10 games so far this season

A lot depends on the team coming back healthy, but I think Oakland needs to get weaker too. Hopefully one or two of their key players get paid elsewhere. We know they have a small budget and have had that group of guys together for at least 3 years. Are some of them gonna be FAs?

Meh they will just replace them with some other scrubs on paper but will continue to win games despite their players #'s

They "gave" some starting pitcher to the Nationals last off season. Fister, I think.

The problem is - next year they have a decent chance at contending for the pennant.....as long as everyone comes back healthy. So you dont want to get rid of too many pieces via trade...

For the love of God get Choo out of LF. I just watched the rest of the game when I got home. He gave 3 outs to the Tigers in this game by misplays in the OF.

I can't even buy the excuse he's hurt anymore, I have used it up until now but shit if he was really less than 90% I think they would have put him on the DL for sure by now when it's pretty clear this team is playing for a different year.

It's tough to take. And to top it off we are so bad at home. I am not sure when the last time was we were this bad at home.

It has been a long time, I haven't looked it up but I know it's been a real long time

No kidding, I was a bit surprised to hear so much cheering...for Detroit.
I can't recall the opposing team's fans being so loud
normal when the team is so bad, not much to cheer about.

After tonight I'm starting to wonder myself....maybe the injury was getting him at first, lost his confidence and here we are.

Been saying the same thing for some time now.

Ya know, if Cruz makes the catch in the WS he'd still be here - signed long term IMO - and life would be good.

But I am stunted at how poorly Choo is in the OF and now he swings early and often, misses most too. It wasn't at all uncommon a few months ago for him to have 8 pitch AB much less 8 pitch nights. And his average has fallen about 100 pts in 5/6 weeks.

I think you may be right. I ragged on Cruz more for his complete choke job on a catchable ball if he played it off the bat like a professional outfielder. His overall skills as an outfielder are average and shockingly for me, better than Coo for sure.
