Hope for the Carolina Team that landed in Calgary last week. They were putrid. My Bro in law and i attended that game . Carolina's players behind the play would literally stop skating. 5 minutes in we could tell the Flames would destroy them , and they did. If half the Hurricanes DIDN'T have the flu , they are in for a brutal season.

It could be BOTH ya know.

Anisimov "day to day" with "Upper Body".

Welp. See you all in December. :gaah:

Horton, Dubinsky, Jenner, Bobrovsky, Calvert, Foligno, Anisimov, Wiz...

And Tropp will likely get a two game vacation for his hit.

So we have a first line and 3 4th lines. And our 3rd D pairing is Goloubef and Erixon.

I need a hug.

I know a surefire way to cheer yourself up. Compare your remaining roster to the Sabres starting roster.

About your first round draft pick...

Tim Erixon, Jared Boll (His albatross of a contract will help you get back to the floor when you lose Stewart) and one of four young forwards like Rychel, or Chaput.

We've still got a couple albatross contracts of our own, thank you very much.

We've only got 3 first round picks though. Could always use another.

Well, we probably won't shed a first rounder this year, because if the gypsy that the Jackets have apparently pissed off keeps the hex on, we might be in the lottery ourselves.

About your first round draft pick...

Since when is Chris Stewart worth a 1st round pick? This isn't the first time he's been traded & nobody gave up that much for him then. The Sabres are simply a team being run into the ground. It's absolutely pathetic what the league is allowing them to do.

Honestly, if you think about it - if Mike Babcock were to leave, with the Isles going to Brooklyn and a team on the rise, plus John Tavares being there(he'd love to coach him), that could be an interesting place for him to go to if Jack Capuano can't get it done when it matters with this group

It would be great if that were to happen. One problem, Capuano is probably the lowest paid head coach in the league. Wang will own the team for the 1st year in Brooklyn. I have a hard time believing Wang would pay Babcock. I'd like to be wrong though. Capuano needs to go. The Isles simply have to many defenseman with NHL contracts. I've never been a Strait fan. The problem is I guess they don't want to lose him on waivers. Hamonic is probably going to be in the lineup against Colorado.

He's been traded twice in the past. Both times in multi-player deals. Both times with first round picks going back to the team that traded him.

So it's awfully hard to put a specific value on him if he goes in a single player deal based on his past trades. However, past history can tell us that it's not hard to imagine him being packaged in a deal that results in a first round pick going back.

If teams are giving up first round picks to get Chris Stewart, then their GM's should be canned - he's not worth a first round pick, absolutely not

As I said, nobody has given up a first for him alone. But twice he's been in packages that include firsts. The Sabres do have a few other pieces that could go in a package that could see another first come back.

I wouldn't give up a first rounder for anyone who is UFA in a few months, no matter who it was.

The asking price is (supposedly) two young players or two draft picks. The Bruins allegedly balked at that. So, I think the Jackets may be the only other team with enough injury woes to really be after a winger like him. And there are other places to look (Edmonton needs D and would move Eberle, and Carolina and Florida might be willing to deal). I would like to see Stewart because he is familiar to JD and Jarmo. But he's not worth more than one of the expendable D men (Goloubef or Erixon) and a young forward (Chaput or Zaar). I am also willing to throw in Jared Boll.

But at this point, I would trade Boll for a case of medical tape and some gauze pads.
