Nebraska's athletic department sold just 1,748 Gator Bowl tickets at a loss of nearly $800,000. Now I get that Nebraska played Georgia two years in a row in a Florida bowl game and that many fans probably bought tickets directly from the bowl because they are cheaper but DAMN.

There aren't even 2K fans that care enough about the program to buy tickets through the AD department? Nebraska fans have one of the best reputations in college football but if this keeps up that is going to be in the toilet.

Honestly if the B1G can't represent better than that then the conference needs to give up it's slot and give it to the PAC. It's time for a PAC vs SEC bowl game anyway.

same team Nebraska played the year before, and lost to.

The end of the year, Nebraska was beaten handily by Michigan State and Iowa, both in Lincoln.

Bo Pelini's "Fuck the Fans" tape also had a hand in it because of the way the team finished.

PLus, you are not posting anything original.

Dude I don't care what the circumstances are if you can't sell 2K tickets then your program is not legitimate anymore. I'm not kidding about taking the spot away, when the bowl contracts come up for renewal, if you guys can't be bothered with attending a football game against a historic program like Georgia even if it is a repeat then stick a fork in and shut the program down.

YOu want the PAC teams? Their attendance was Abyssmal for the 2013 games.

Oregon State less than 30,000.

Washington less than 35,000.

USC less than 43,000.

UCLA less than 48,000.

You really do not make much sense.

It has been awhile since Nebraska can say this to a complainer.

Scoreboard.

Nebraska 24
Georgia 19

Georgia also returned 5,000 unsold tickets.

Can we set up an IQ test that keeps the mentally retarded from posting on the CFB forum?

NU has sold 2,800 Gator Bowl tickets : Latest Husker News

Nebraska sold 2800 and Georgia sold 7000 at the time of this writing.

Athens GA is a six hour drive, Nebraska is a four hour flight.

Keep on celebrating those mythical championships.

Looks like Nebraska was fudging on their numbers:

Unsold bowl tickets cost B1G nearly $4.5 million - TheGazette

IOWA CITY — Nebraska football fans have a well-earned reputation for taking over opponents' stadiums as well as bowl venues. However Husker fans' lukewarm interest in the 2014 Gator Bowl left a Big Red deficit for the school — and the Big Ten — in ticket sales.

The Cornhuskers' athletics department committed to sell 12,678 tickets to the Gator Bowl as part of a Big Ten arrangement. Whether it was the school's third straight Florida bowl trip, its second consecutive bowl match-up with Georgia or a season-ending 38-17 defeat to Iowa, Nebraska fans balked at buying tickets through the school. According to a document submitted to the NCAA and obtained by The Gazette through an open-records request, Nebraska's athletics department sold just 1,748 Gator Bowl tickets at a loss of nearly $800,000.

Why don't you try to explain how your program is perfectly fine and how it doesn't matter if your fans travel to bowl games instead of attacking the messenger? That should be some fine reading.

"Abdullah for Heisman"...now that is retarded stuff right there.

Wait, did he say Georgia was a historic program?

colbert-what.gif

Georgia isn't? I would definitely include Nebraska on that list but I find it interesting you don't think Georgia should be on it please explain.
