He's not that funny a guy, but THAT is a good line.

Matter of taste I suppose. Saw him do a live show at the Fillmore a few weeks ago, he was pretty funny there.

+1. Heroes was good for about 4 episodes, then it became a Hayden Panettiere vehicle and just lame. Again, great concept -- shitty execution. Zachary Quinto (Sylar) showed promise though. I didn't survive season 1.

You're all very right. For some reason, I just had to find out what happened next. I was selling merch for my buddies' band throughout North America and Europe, so it was a good way to kill time on long drives and plane rides, but there were certainly successive days where I asked, "Why am I watching this?" I'll probably end up watching the mini-series if they decide to close out the lingering questions that I don't really care about, but need to have answered. I guess I'm a masochist.

I tried to watch Heroes, but the writing was just too abysmal for me. I really like the concept, but like most everything non-cable the writing is pure crap.

Agree 100%

Heroes was a high-budget rip of 4400, but it was not written half as well. It also became a show about how every "hero" would have their powers and personalities change 180 degrees every episode. You would never know, from one week to the next, whether Sylar or Matt were good guys or bad guys because they would be flipping every ep. It became worse than wrestling :)

The difference in writing quality between premium cable, free cable, and broadcast network is striking.

Premium Cable...

Dexter
Californication
True Blood
Sopranos
Wire
Sparticus

Free Cable

Breaking Bad
Shield
Mad Men
Sons of Anarchy
Terriers
Nip/Tuck
South Park
Psych
Monk
BSG

Broadcast Network

Heroes
Reality TV x100
CSI x3
Law & Order x8
NCIS x3

LOL. It's funny because it's true. Anyone else a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm?

Ryan Garko going to Korea (it's not specified whether it's North or South). Remember how much angst there was over him being non-tendered last off-season?

Big time.

How about 30 Rock?

Can't stand CYE. I have never been able to stomach an entire ep. Not a fan of 30 Rock either. Not a fan of any of the stars of that show.

Community is a quality show, though. This season is not as good as s1, but it is still good.

Yeah, the wife runs from the room whenever the theme for CYE comes on.

To be honest, I don't remember much angst about his release, it was more geared towards his acquisition...

Yup, and I remember how the ESPN board was all lauding the Seattle Mariners front office because they actually "got it" when it comes to baseball talent evaluations.....I wonder how that story actually turned out :D

Maybe it was mostly at MCC - general theme: Sabean's an idiot - Ryan Garko is a much better platoon partner with Ishikawa than Huff. I actually thought aquiring Garko made sense at the time. The Giants were deficient in right-handed bats - although I didn't think Garko-Sanchez was enough to get the Giants to the playoffs - and hated "throwing away" Alderson and Barnes.

Exactly! That's why I always read the end of books first.
