I honestly think the difference between Soto and Chirinos will be minimal on offense... still expect Soto to be better defensively though but Chirinos has improved a lot.

Based off of what we saw the 2nd half last year from Soto getting more playing time I would have to disagree with you on that. Soto has more pop that Soto and feel he would hit for a higher average.

If we can all remind ourselves that about 2-3 weeks ago we were saying if we can just hang in there until we get healthy then we should be in good shape. Well, we are hanging in there pretty stinking well. In time we hope to see Choo, Andrus, Kouzmanoff (why not-but 3-4-5-6 can be a mixed bag), Beltre, Fielder, Rios, Martin, Soto, Profar with Moreland, Chirinos, Wilson and ???. Starting Darvish, Perez, Lewis, Holland, Harrison (try to line up lefties for Oakland) and Soria, Frasor, Ross, Scheppers, Ogando, Cotts, Poreda and one or two others.

Kouz might be looking at back surgery. Doubt he'll be back.

Soto was close to that last year but 2nd half slash was 324/392/620.

Soto has far more power and works the count way better than Chirinos, the average might be similar but the other numbers would favor Soto

IMO, 2 runs was going to score on the scorcher unless he catches it. So it was worth the risk.
