He is injured right now they are talking about sending him to the DL, we have enough injury concerns right now

given that, he would fit right though

I wish we still had Cliff Lee..... He owns the A's

Make an offer I'm certain they will listen at this point, better make em pay most of that contract though

Think we could almost field an entire team of injured players aside from starting pitching, I guess we are getting guys back there at least

First, your points 1-3 are right on.....Second, point # 4 is......the A's make him work beyond his scope and he's gotta overcome this or else we're screwed - long term in the division - or else maybe he drops back into a good not great starter category.

If Yu can't defeat the team you have to beat, then you'll never be the man we can depend on, nor the man you came over here to be. Or were you just talking shit?

It's that simple to me.

Some really great pitchers have had teams that they just have issues with… it doesn't make them any less of a pitcher IMO just that they don't match up as well against said teams. A few examples are Felix and Price vs us. But I know there are tons more better ones that I am blanking on.

Not sure what you meant by talking shit? I was just saying he doesn't tend to have many of these, so at least one of them is behind us. He is going to have to get a better game plan vs the A's though.

Given where our budget is, we would almost have to unload a decent sized contract though. Either that or get into Halos territory as far as budget goes.

For sure… I can't remember a season where the Rangers have had this many injuries this early on. Great that they have weathered the storm.

Why don't we have Jose Abreu.. thats who we need to trade for :). Crazy the rookie is leading the league in HRs and RBI and he has brought his average up to .271. This dude is going to be good. Had I had the time to play fantasy with you guys I was planning on picking him a few rounds early as my sleeper… not sure if he was really much of a sleeper though. I literally know nothing about fantasy baseball and how scoring is done.

Hence why they would have to pay most of the money he is due, but they wouldn't. The Texas ownership and JD would have to go over budget to make it happen, not sure its worth that in the long run.

Darvish has to quit trying to be so cute with these A's hitters and pitch off the fastball, he tries to go at them with all his off speed and fancy stuff and they lay off pitches out of the strike zone. Throw the fastball on the edges and run some hard stuff in on their hands from time to time. Beat them with your best FB. Take a look at the film of what McHugh did to them Sunday and work from there, what he has done so far isn't working. Make adjustments

Scoring varies in every league almost depending on how the league is set-up, but guys that post numbers like Abreu is putting up right now are good to have in all leagues

Yeah, I agree 100%. I have no idea how they hold off on some of those pitches though, he still had some nasty breaking stuff tonight, they just didn't bite. But with a team that walks as much as they do, you can't risk getting behind in the count-you need to get ahead.

Think Don was talking about Yu talking shit about his intentions in coming to MLB, maybe IDK?

Oh, yeah you are probably right… I would still say he as backed it up pretty good IMO. You want him to be able to beat the A's since they are in the division but his overall body of work has been very solid thus far. I still would like to see him get deeper into games though but his pitch count generally gets up early as a SO pitcher.

And kudos to RW for yanking Darvish when he did. In the past he may have stuck with him for 6-7 innings.

Total wildcard and unknown and we had already acquired Fielder, plus I think he's already 27

He got a pretty rich deal from the ChiSox for being an unknown and a bit on the old side and having never faced ML pitching, a lot of people were wary of this guy due to the issues of Cuban hitters making the transition to the majors

Working out real well for the ChiSox so far though, he's certainly surprised me so far, and I'm willing to say I may have been wrong on him thus far, but its a long season, lets see if pitchers adjust
