Homophobics gotta have somewhere to hide, guess this is the spot. Why all the hatred towards one group in a society? Is it the fact that the Constitution says "Equality for all" that twists your nutsacs up in a knot?

I think there are two groups within those that hate this stuff. One who dislikes gays or their lifestyle. And another who hate the medias constant coverage of it.

If you are truly accepting of all gays but keep hearing about how the royal "we" are unaccepting, hateful, unfair, etc. and how they are great, courageous, heroes, pioneers, etc., it might become something someone hates. It's like jealousy with a mix of annoyance. It's the guilt-tripping feel and can we change the channel feeling. Some people don't care. They treat everyone fairly but keep hearing about it.

It's like how Favre or Tebow fans could grow tired of FavreWatch or coverage of Tebow. (No, I am not saying that the plights of homosexuals is trivial or brought on by themselves like Favre did to himself.)

I said this in a thread about Michael Sam: "For the record, I don't care. He can be promotional about it. He can be openly gay. He can be closeted gay. He can play or he cannot play. Doesn't matter to me. Maybe I'm not passionate enough to care. Maybe I should be. But it doesn't matter to me. I follow the Niners and I follow Alex Smith and other Utah players' careers. Among other causes that the NFL celebrates every year, I project a "Gay Awareness Month" is in the leagues future.

Will rainbow cleats and wristbands be they way they promote awareness of gay rights or something a little less overt?

I don't know, but I for one can't wait to find out how this "heroes" are celebrated...........

Interesting thought on the uniforms being the rainbow color??/ Though they let Pittsburgh wear the bumble bee uni's so I can't see an issue with rainbow colors....

That's pretty stupid. The vitriol here isn't saying, "Gay is not for me, but I recognize it's anyone's right to be gay without condemnation". The majority of the anti-gay posters on this thread are instead saying "Gay is wrong and I hate that it's now celebrated as being OK." The former is being uncomfortable, the latter bigoted. Try substituting 'Black' for 'Gay' in your posts and see how much sympathy you get.

What's simple-minded is the inability of bigots to separate, "hey, it's not for me and the truth is I really don't like it" from, "I feel I have the right to tell you what you are is wrong and I hate you for it." Those are pretty different things.

I'm complex-minded enough to get that I live in a country where I don't get to tell other people how to live their lives as long as they aren't hurting anyone. I'm not comfortable with sky-diving, yet I don't condemn those who like it. I'm less comfortable with religions that condemn women to a subordinate role, yet I respect the right of others to believe. I'm even less comfortable with abortion but recognize it's a complex issue and my opinion isn't the only one.

If we want to talk about levels of intelligence, tell me when you reach level 1.

If you're gay you go to work and here - daily - men talk about how they sexually treat women. You walk into a co-workers cubicle and see pictures of his family on his desk. You hear him (or her) talk about their kids, soccer practice, how they're doing in school, etc.

The straight lifestyle *is* a lifestyle, as it were.

All gay people want is equal footing in that. To be able to put out pictures on thier desks of their husbands/wives/SO's...to talk about their kids and do the same things straight people do.

The straight people have had an agenda for a long time - it's just that it's existed for so long, people don't call it an agenda, they call it 'normal'.

of course, its because straight sex in marriage is normal. Gay sex is not normal. Straight sex doesn't lead to a 61 % rate of a horrible disease. It doesn't lead to dying off without breeding children. Gay relationships serve no purposes to the growth and betterment of society. The reason they hide it is because they know in their heart of hearts it is a shameful act. if only 2.4 percent of men in the USA are gay it means everyone knows its a really bizarre choice to make and you have to be on the lunatic fringe to want to do it.

We already knew you were a moron, but thanks for the confirmation. I'm pretty comfortable with my heterosexuality and well-heeled lifestyle, but I'm not such an imbecile that I think others have to conform to my religious beliefs in a country where freedom of religion is the very first, ahead of all others. Gays aren't hurting anyone, and it's not a lifestyle, princess, it's a life. Gays choose what they are no more than Blacks or Asians. Though we both know you really think they're sub-human too and you'd rather they left (never met a Black guy who couldn't at least acknowledge that gays had a right to exist even if he/she believed it was a sin).
