It just doesn't feel right knowing that other QBs would've gotten it. Wilson will for sure win some awards in the future though. Anybody who has followed his career knows he's no game manager. When the time comes, he will light it up and put up a lot of numbers. I feel a Brady like career coming for him. Start out slowly, then form into the heart of your team.

As a Seahawk fan, I could care less. Seahawks have been a complete team all year. Credit needs to be spread around. Wilson did his part, but so did others.

And yet most of your fanbase on this site says they would pick Luck over Wilson. He gets no credit from anyone.

All kinds of people keep saying is that Seattle's offense would be hopeless without Lynch. Well, Lynch went for 39 yards on 15 carries today. And all Russell did was lead 3 TD drives and 2 FG drives in 5 drives before they want into garbage time mode. The first FG drive was stopped because of a mystifying review result. The second featured a perfect TD pass dropped by his receiver.

He could easily have gone 5 for 5 in TD drives without Lynch having any impact. But how much do you want to bet next year the anti-Wilson crowd will insist that he's only a success because of Marshawn?

People can keep hating. Russell will keep winning. There couldn't have been a more deserving starting quarterback for the Super Bowl title.

There is a case for Wilson, and Harvin, and Chancellor. I don't see this as some great travesty, it was a great team win.

To this point, Wilson is the best QB of his draft class. I don't think there is any argument for any other QB at this point. But I know people will say that Luck carries a bad team. Well. He makes a lot of boneheaded mistakes in the process. He has a lot of maturing to do. Wilson is miles ahead of him in the maturity category.

The reason why I view it as a travesty is other QBs would've won the award with that stat. That's really what I'm getting at. Its not far to Wilson because he isn't a "big name" yet. Well. He is now. Super Bowl champion QB. That's automatic big name status.

I see what youre saying and thats a fair assessment. Usually if its a close race the QB will just get the nod.

Yeah.....His first one was real bad. There prolly were more.

Do you want me to go throw by throw with his incompletions? Because there weren't more. There were three drops (the one in the endzone on the second FG drive, the Harvin one that Denver challenged as a lateral, and the Willson one in the second half) and three throwaways.

Plus, the first bad throw, that's seven incompletions.

So actually, you are full of shit. You were wrong about Russell. Now leave.

As I've stated before the entire defense deserved the MVP award but if I had to chose one player for the Hawks it would've been Kam. He set the tone early with impressive and demoralizing blows, made critical PD's and an int as he set the tone for the game. Smith was probably the last player I even thought about in terms of winning the MVP. The int was gift wrapped by a D-line player who hit the arm of Manning which gave Smith a chance for a fair catch INT then he went unimpeded into for the TD after the game was already over. Other than that he was irrelevant on the field. If I had to chose one non offensive player it would've been Wilson but splash plays win MVP so they would've given it to Harvin instead.

Wilson was 18/25 for 205 yards and 2 TD's.

Solid but not MVP worthy.

Exactly, which is why he will never win NFL MVP because the run first/elite D will never enable him to post spectacular numbers even though he has the capability. He will continue to be one of if not the most clutch and efficient QB's in the NFL.

And if he keeps winning rings, I'm sure he wont care.

Wilson's performance last night really comes off as a "game manager". I think he has the ability to take a games over ..but that was not last night.

Wilson is the ONLY QB to NOT win MVP when throwing for 200+ yards, 2 TDs, and completing 75% of his passes.

So what Jakeology is saying holds merit, however with the performance of the defense it had to go to someone on that side of the ball.

18/25 206, 2 TDs no INTs 123.1 QB rating. 3 carries, 26 yards. 0 sacks. I don't care how good the rest of the team plays. Unless you play you an all time great, memorable game, a QB with those stats wins the MVP every time. ROBBED. Period.

Favre was 14/27 for 246, 2TDs and no pick either and Howard won the MVP in 97

what's your point?

MVP could have gone in about 4 different directions yesterday and all would have been deserved, goes to show just how well Seattle played on both sides of the ball.

Total TEAM effort with a whollatta "I's" in there to boot.

I don't know about giving it to Wilson, but I'd have given it to Kam over Smith if it had to go to the defense. That early hit he had on Thomas was what all of the defense said set the tone and put things in that downward spiral. He had a great game and after a couple of early hits you didn't see them trying anything down field over the middle. Rub routes? lol. NOT.

Wilson had a solid performance, but the term MVP means which guy was most responsible for winning, not who was the most steady. That game was over so early it's hard to say where that tipping point was and who was responsible for it.
