Someone said it earlier. Eye test. I'll take the guy that only got better in the big games. Never lost a SB. Never threw a pick in 4 SBs. A guy that lead a 4th qtr comeback on the biggest stage. A guy that has a city named after him...

I'll take Montana.

Montana, Unitas and Marino have to be on any top 5 list of QB's. It's a no-brainer. The only knock on Marino is lack of SB rings but that has nothing to do with him but the team he was on. The guy was a great great QB with probably the best throwing delivery ever.Other than that, I think you have to give Manning and Brady both their due and include them regardless of your homerism. All the other guys like Elway, Staubach, etc are very close too but top 10 imo, not top 5.

:agree:

How in the hell is Favre not in here :wtf2:

I don't think he deserves to be in there. He's the dumbest great QB of all time. He threw incredibly stupid picks in too many games. I like him and have him top 10 but certainly not top 5.

What I don't get is why anyone would have Elway top 10, much less top 5. The Broncos won those Super Bowls because of Terrell Davis and that running game. Elway made plays sure, but they don't win without Davis. Shanny actually is a decent coach and his running schemes are impressive.

it's not a no brainer. Deal is the game has changed so much over the years it's damn near impossible to say any one QB absolutely deserves to make the list. There are to many factors to many variables that have to be accounted for. Bottom line IMO there are no absolutes and in the end it's all personal opinion and it's just impossible to argue or really debate opinion.

It's all subjective. Some people truly believe Dan Marino is the best ever and there's no convincing them otherwise. But without a doubt the loudest, most obnoxious and most persistently stubborn are the Brady people. Constantly minimizing or tearing down Peyton Manning and Joe Montana? Just wow. :L

That's because allot of these guys are 17. They never even saw Marino or Aikman play.

I'm 38 and never saw him play. I give him respect but I don't know how to really rank him. The game was so different from the game we know now.

I guess they are trying to defend their position. People always take extreme measures when defending their beliefs or trying to goat them into a heated debate. You know this.

Really? I'm 40 and watched both of them. Nipsey is 13 and never saw Brady win a SB. :noidea:

How's it feel to have me, the "13 year old," consistently outwit you? Makes you almost as mad as Tom Brady on a top 5 QB list?

How? He played before your time. I have seen him on film and think he was great but it's very subjective. I can see him being top 5 but never better than Montana.
