I hate to break it to you but the team with the best quarterback doesn't always win the Super Bowl.
Qbs win regular season games. Defense wins championships"I have two rings, no thanks to that asshole" ~ Don Shula
The one year Peyton won, he had a legit defense when Sanders was healthyHopefully no Broncos fans read this.... Theyll be so upset. LOL
That's exactly my point. Aikman from my memory he played mostly out of running formations. You're right, his stats aren't going to look stellar but that's because like you said, they didn't rely heavily on the passing game. When you have Emmit Smith you don't have to throw it 40 times. I think i saw once he averaged about 25 or less a game. Again, I personally think Aikman if in a spread offense today would have stats like Brady, Manning and Brees.
Eye test =
1. Montana
2. Dan the Man
3. Brady
4. Elway
5. Manning
Favre is overrated (Lost more playoff games with interceptions. I think he 6 in a game & 4 in another)
Aikman is underrated (Highest lifetime SB completion %)
Bradshaw is underrated (Crap regular seasons hurt but in 2 of the SB's he was unreal. 9 TD's in SB's is # 2 all time.)
Staubach is underrated
Young is underrated
Kurt Warner is underrated ( Has the top 3 passing yd games in SB history)![]()
If Warner had got his shot earlier he would be a top 5 QB IMO. Guy was great. He will be an interesting HOF case since he had a great career even though it was truncated.
Warner was even better in the postseason. Guy averaged 2.5 TD passes per playoff game and his career QB rating in the playoffs was 102.4. Clutch as they came. 9-4 career record in the playoffs as well.
1) John Elway
2) Joe Montana
3) Terry Bradshaw
4) Brett Farve
5) Dan Marino
Manning is 7 and Brady is 10
crazy list for sure, but no crazier than you putting miss brady at #1
Marino
Peyton
Unitas
Brady
Montana
It's fun to see everybody's opinions here. Of course, that's all it is. It's so subjective, that it's impossible to come up with a standard that everyone can agree on.
However, I'm a little saddened by all the people talking about old school QBs, but leaving Bart Starr off the list. He owns five championships in six chances, including two Super Bowls. Fifteen TDs with only three INT's in ten post season games, including nine wins in a row. Let's not forget the Ice Bowl where he won the game with a QB sneak. Talk about clutch.
